One Way Travel to Colombia,

My wife would like to travel to Colombia for the holiday.. In January, she will return with her daughter, who was recently approved for the K2 Derivative visa..

We would like to purchase the return trip for my wife and step daughter seperately, later in December or in January when they are less expensive..

Is there any issue with potential issues with my wife traveling on a one-way ticket, and returning 30 days later on a seperate itenerary?

BTW, my wife currently is a LPR, has a 2 year GC...

She has already been out of the country on various trips to Colombia for a total of 4 months...

I have never seen customs/immigration look at plane tickets at the POE. Only passports, visas. And there is no "immigration" on leaving.

As long as she is maintaining her residency here and not spending more than 6 months out of the country in a year she shouldn't have issues with USCIS. She might get additional screening with TSA anyway as one-way tickets can bring that on, but nothing to stress about.

That part I understand, I travel internationally extensively, the part of my question, I dont think you understood, is that immigration may notice as my wife re-enters that she left on a one-way ticket.. They can get this information from the airlines..

So my question is; Does it matter to her immigration status?

Nope, it won't matter. Obviously she'll have bought a return ticket by the time she is re-entering and going through customs, so the rest won't matter. To be on the safe side, it wouldn't be a bad idea for her to keep track of her itinerary and plane tickets so CBP can easily see when she left and how long she was out of the country for, however.
