PALATINE, Ill. -- The Illinois Republican Party says Ron Paul has won a statewide straw poll that sought to determine voters' unofficial preference for the GOP presidential nomination.

The Texas congressman won Saturday's poll with 52 percent of the vote.

the media would love it, until they realize that RP would destroy Obama. The media ignores RP because they are scared shitless of him and because their Corporate Masters are scared as well. If the Corporations can't have a candidate that bows down to them, then they don't want him/her.

Pretty much right. The two parties tell the major media who the few acceptable are to focus on. The Media have to ignore the rest if they want the billions to be spent this next year on their services. Want to see who the acceptable candidates are? Watch at any debate who the front and center are.

Ron paul so far has not been a threat to anyone and so no one has invested any energy in destroying him, if he were to become a real candidate, Team Obama would slice and dice him into a thousand

Cain's been getting plenty of media coverage since he started to ascend in the polls. Before you had Perry getting all the action. And before that Bachmann and The Donald. Newt's been getting some lift in the numbers lately. If the GOP wants Paul to get more coverage, then put some support behind his candidacy. Once he hits 20%+, the media will be all over him.

The media may be left-leaning but that's only because the lefties buy stuff. You can't advertise to the conservative crowd. They're already set in their ways. Drama creates ratings and RP doesn't add drama - he adds scary truth. Nobody wants to hear that. They want to hear drama!
