My point is since you believe in the cavemen stories wouldn't an aborted baby get a free ticket to Heaven? Isn't that a good thing? Just think of it as a free pass. After all, that baby could have went to hell if it became one of the top scientists in the world and was inducted into the NAS, winning Nobel Prizes in Physics (93% of the scientists in the National Academy of Sciences are atheists).

good.gif Abortion = One less baby burning in Hell for eternity

You know, sometimes you make some thought provoking points which add to the conversation and other times you let your Atheistic obsession get in the way, this post of your Bud was one of those times.

On to your point.

While it is commonly thought that the unborn would go to heaven, the greater point you missed is..... what happens to those who stood by and let it happen?

Even justified it on "monetary" grounds.

... in this topic we are covering unwanted pregnancies .... not unwanted children.

Well, good to know that these two issues have nothing to do with one another. It's not like children are the ultimate result of a pregnancy.

... but they are nowhere near deserving of having their life snuffed out.

I don't remember having suggested or advocated any such thing.

If Shannon is 19, smokes cigarettes, pops pills, and drinks. Chronically unemployed.

Her 70th boyfriend - Tim - 31 - Drinks, smokes, smokes weed, pops pills, full of tattoos, works as a roofer.

They fight all day long. Anyone can look at their relationship and tell that they aren't exactly meant for each other. Probably break up within 6 months. If not, send a couple domestic violence cases Tim's way.

Shannon gets "preggo".

The couple live in a trailer and are flat broke.

Chances are that kid is going to be like pops. Probably worse.

His a$ is going straight to hell!

Were he aborted he'd be going to heaven.

So technically momma is doing a good thing by getting her offspring into heaven before her son loses his innocence at 7 years old with his first time drinking and smoking.

YOu remind me of the guy who bashed in his grandmothers head with a hammer and mitigated his act by pointing out she had cancer and would have died a slow painful death anyway.

SOmetimes some good can come from the most remarkable act of evil.

Your rational is no different than those who have gone before you, justifying the enslavement and even extermination of others.... "for their own good" of course.

Mississippi about to confer the same rights on zygotes and adults

Tomorrow the good (and bad) citizens of the state of Mississipi will go to the polls to vote on a referendum to amend the state constitution. Here’s Amendment 26, which will define a fertilized egg, and every other developmental stage of H. sapiens, as a “person.”

Be it Enacted by the People of the State of Mississippi: SECTION 1. Article III of the constitution of the state of Mississippi is hereby amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION TO READ: Section 33. Person defined. As used in this Article III of the state constitution, “The term ‘person’ or ‘persons’ shall include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning or the functional equivalent thereof.” This initiative shall not require any additional revenue for implementation.

The New York Times notes:

The amendment in Mississippi would ban virtually all abortions, including those resulting from rape or incest. It would bar some birth control methods, including IUDs and “morning-after pills,” which prevent fertilized eggs from implanting in the uterus. It would also outlaw the destruction of embryos created in laboratories. . .

The approach, granting legal rights to embryos, is fundamentally different from the abortion restrictions that have been adopted in dozens of states. These try to narrow or hamper access to abortions by, for example, sharply restricting the procedures at as early as 20 weeks, requiring women to view ultrasounds of the fetus, curbing insurance coverage and imposing expensive regulations on clinics.

The Mississippi amendment aims to sidestep existing legal battles, simply stating that “the term ‘person’ or ‘persons’ shall include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning or the functional equivalent thereof.”

If this passes, and I’m betting it will, abortion will become murder. And the amendment will be appealed all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court, which, if they affirm it, will constitute the effective overturning of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that a woman has a right to an abortion, at least up to the moment the fetus considered “viable.” The current Court is very conservative, and may well overturn its 38-year-old decision.

Where does this come from? Mostly from religion, of course, for the whole premise is based on the presence of a soul in the zygote. Barring that, it’s just an undifferentiated ball of cells and this kerfuffle would surely not exist—or at least be as widespread.

If a zygote is a “person,” then consider what we already believe about developmental stages:

You speak as though those who oppose abortion have no care for the older kids as well.

Lets take a look shall we and see if Religious folk .... while not perfect do give their lives and dollars to provide for their care. You will notice most all providers are faith based.

Well, that's a fact. These kids are fcuked. They trail in academic achievement and lead in mental health disorders. Far fewer graduate from high school and only a negligible portion makes it into, let alone through college. By and large, they're disadvantaged their entire lives and more often than not a drag on society - i.e. they depend much heavier on public assistance to get by. And you want more of them while cutting the services that let them survive. Brilliant!

It's a lose lose situation. Even if they got scholarships to the best universities in the world, went on to get Ph.D.s, went on to make meaningful contributions to science, and were awarded Nobel Prizes, and then went on to be inducted into the National Academy of Sciences, all of that and they would still be 93% likely to be atheist therefore 93% chance of going to hell.

The team that finds a cure for cancer within the next 15 years will probably be all atheists. And when they die they will be sent into the flames of hell.

try again.

No one is lining up to adopt 12 year old black children with emotional/social problems caused by being in a one parent household. Not being racist, that is just a fact. The fact theat peoplea re going to Siberia to adopt white babies ought to tell you something.

I am not prepared to force my morals on others but I guess that is OK with "conservatives" Strange name for people that try to force their way of life on others.

See this is the problem with harvesting stuff from that looney site, the presentation is just disingenuous, for example.

Of the 4 photos, only one simply needs nutrition to reach it's final state as notied on the photo.

-The average chicken egg on a plate has not only never been fertilized it starts to decay in it's presented state immediately.

-An acorn lying on the ground has not germinated and within days will be ruined by tiny worms consuming it from the inside.

- a silk worm or it's web will never be more than what you see in the photo unless it is harvested and taken through many steps of manufacturing.

-Ahh but the last photo..... that one is remarkably different, though it is a short stage of growth (4 days) it has everything neccesary but time and nutrition (which it will need it's whole life) to become a person, no other fraudulent example shown can say that.

A zygote is always synthesized from the union of two gametes, and constitutes the first stage in a unique organism's development. Zygotes are usually produced by a fertilization event between two haploid cells—an ovum (female gamete) and a sperm cell (male gamete)—which combine to form the single diploid cell. Such zygotes contain DNA derived from both the parents, and this provides all the genetic information necessary to form a new individual.

Honest debate is the beginning step to persuade others.

Gary rather than waste time dealing with your huge stretch of closely associating a woman who does not want her baby to that of a pre-teen, let me take a poke at your ongoing pretense that you

"Don't force your morals on others."

Are you really suggesting if someone went into your car and took your laptop you would not impose your moral belief that stealing from others is wrong?

In some cultures which do not hold that moral belief (russia being one) YOU would be to blame because you allowed it to happen because you did not lock your car up or you left it where another COULD take it.

Yet in this country we so universally hold that taking what is not yours is morally wrong that we even enact laws to that effect.

nearly all our criminal laws spring forth from moral laws. Do you reject the criminal laws which are based on common western Morals?

Get real dude.
