I bought the tickets for my wife and step daughter on-line through Delta. There was absolutely no issue, except they were required to pay an additional tax of 1650 PHP each at NAIA because the tickets were purchased outside the Philippines.

Thats good to know! I plan on using Delta too. maybe Kevin will post here later but he was finally told by Delta that after he buys online he needs to go to nearest ticket office with 2 forms of ID etc. Something gets entered in the system. Then his girl needs to verify with Delta in MNL that it is in the system. later she will pay the Phil tax and MNL fees. I have no doubt what you say worked for you without all these steps. I can call delta 3 times and get 3 different answers for any question lol. I guess the worry is without all these steps maybe she can not board. many have told me if she is flying alone she needs a photo copy of my credit card too. I have to get tickets for my fiance and step son next month so will have same issue except I will be flying with them. My best guess is well.....this is the philippines so more than one way can work but you never know when there will be a glitch. How long ago did you buy those? thanks

I bought last year, and did not travel with them. I travel exclusively with Delta a lot (Platinum Medallion). After I bought the tickets, I call the Delta Medallion hot line and explained that my fiancee and her daughter would be traveling from Manila to Atlanta. I also verified with them at that time that it was me who purchased the tickets. No one in Manila asked my wife for a copy of the credit card or any other additional ID. The only thing we didn't know was about the additional tax that is imposed if the tickets are purchased outside the Phlippines.

I have read here that some folks have been asked to provide copies of the purchase credit card, but my family wasn't. I don't know if that was because I use Delta all the time, and used my Skymiles credit card to purchase the tickets, or that I called and tried to make sure there were no problems. The only thing my family did was print out the E-ticket and go to the airport.

Yeah I always use Delta, Atlanta is my nearest airport and it's a Delta hub. I was thinking hopefully I can just call Delta and not go there ( 2 hour trip). What you describe is how I would expect to do it. Makes complete sense but with other countries you never know. depends on which employee you talk to also , sometimes they are just wrong. Had a ticket agent in Atlanta one time tell me I would need travel docs for Japan or she could not print my ticket. I tried to explain absolutely not required since I had onward travel and passing thru Narita not entering Japan but it took a supervisor to get it straight. Anyway I appreciate the info thats probably the steps I will take.

I used Continental airlines Manila-Hong Kong-New York one way and booked my wife's ticket on their company website. No issues at all.

I've heard the same issues about booking flights from PI and noticed on some non-US carriers that booking one way from PI was not permitted.

I then booked another round trip ticket for me, and knowing her flight number and seat number, I could make the reservation for my return trip so that we could sit together as well.

How long ago was that . ??/ I think law is fairly new.
