Ok, I know this is an AOS forum, but has anyone in here remember the booking of your flight to tht US. I am curently trying to book a flight and being told we can only book the flight from inside the philipines, and not online. Has any one that has already traveled actually booked a flight online, and had any issues at the airport, or have been successful.

Thanks for the help

I will be working on that problem too in a couple months. I have read at another site some used Delta and no problem. But things always change too so my plan B.... the other site has a trusted travel agent in manila if you have no luck email me and I will get his info. I hve been a member there for years and the advice is always correct. Jim.

I plan on using delta since I have miles but i plan on flying with my fiance but still dont trust the airline to get it right. I do know from other people if your gal is flying alone she will need photo copy of your credit card to get on the flight.

My husband booked our flight online. He used Delta airlines and didn't have any problem. It was 2 years ago though, so Im not sure how well they do now.

So he booked for both of you? In my case I will be flying with her but need to book from the US. One way for her and roundtrip for me. There seems to be problems booking while in the US for a person thats in the philippines. In kevins case I dont think he is flying with her but same problem booking form the US

I used Continental airlines Manila-Hong Kong-New York one way and booked my wife's ticket on their company website. No issues at all.

I've heard the same issues about booking flights from PI and noticed on some non-US carriers that booking one way from PI was not permitted.

I then booked another round trip ticket for me, and knowing her flight number and seat number, I could make the reservation for my return trip so that we could sit together as well.

Most current opinion I have found october 2011 maybe someone can verify this " isn't there a law that

all travel originating in the Philippines, either one-way or roundtrip

must be purchased in the Philippines. There is a law that all tickets

issued in the Philippines must include the Philippine Travel Tax and

that tickets/e-tickets paid for outside of the Philippines can't prepay

the Philippine Travel Tax" ?

Topic has been moved from the AOS forum to the Philippines Regional forum as question is country specific and better addressed here

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

In August 2011 I booked tickets online (from USA) and then flew as follows:

1. One-way for me only: Las Vegas to Manila via Vancouver (cheap fare on PAL).

2. One-way for me & my fiancee: Manila to Salt Lake City via Tokyo Narita (Delta airlines).

We had no trouble at all with either the booking or flying with e-tickets purchased online. There was one odd thing about the online booking of the flights from MNL to SLC: my credit card company charged a foreign transaction fee because Delta apparently "originated" the booking in Manila. I thought this was strange, but didn't bother to find out exactly why it was done that way.

(POE in SLC was easy as could be. Whole process was probably less than a minute. Too bad Delta no longer flies direct from Narita to SLC--we got lucky.)

If utilizing PAL you may pay w/ your CC & fax a copy to they're LA or SF office of your DL, CC and PAL's CC Authorization Form. All the best...

Thats good to know the procedure, thanks. just be aware PaL is having major strike issues at this time

I think it was originated in MNL to comply with their law and pay the taxes due. I agree bout SLC I had to connect thru there once but doesnt seem to be a normal route, customs was small and only 3 people in line :) Edited by Jim N Augie

I bought the tickets for my wife and step daughter on-line through Delta. There was absolutely no issue, except they were required to pay an additional tax of 1650 PHP each at NAIA because the tickets were purchased outside the Philippines.
