What a joy it is to have times like today where I can enjoy seeing my fiancé, friends and future in-laws via cam. Whether it be Skype, Yahoo Messenger, IPhone. Just a wonderful thing to wake up to when missing our loved ones abroad. Again thank God for technology, where would we be without it?

Agreed, technology is great. It's wonderful to be able to stay in communication with our loved ones.

Now if technology catches up with USCIS and enables them to start processing faster, I'd be truly impressed!

Totally agreedgood.gif. I could never imagined if I met my fiance many years back and no Skype, no emails, no video calls, and no anything. Call phones overseas really expensive back then. By the sophisticated of technology, I can watch and see what's my fiancee doing at apartment. If he went to some island, I can rely onto landline and cellphone service that offered by Skype and charged very cheap.kicking.gif

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

I TOTALLY AGREE. even though we don't get to talk on skype a lot (since i'm busy with work) i still am able to contact my fiance through text. International Unlimited texting is expensive for me, but it's totally worth it. :)

I TOTALLY AGREE. even though we don't get to talk on skype a lot (since i'm busy with work) i still am able to contact my fiance through text. International Unlimited texting is expensive for me, but it's totally worth it. :)

Get instant messengers on your phones then you can text for free, instantly! :) My fiance has an htc phone and I have a Blackberry so we use Google Talk and message all day, all you have to do is both pay for a data plan. Which will work out cheaper than international texting.

March 22, 2010 - Introduced online through a mutual friend

July 9, 2010 - I flew out to Phoenix to see Marques, initially for 1 month, changed to just short of 90 days

December 16, 2010 - I flew out to Marques for another 3 months. Christmas in Vegas!

December 31, 2010 - Marques proposed... I said yes! :)

March 10, 2011 - We flew back to London together, Marques met all my family and friends. He stayed for 2 weeks

June 23, 2011 - I flew out to see Marques again

September 19, 2011- I flew back to England alone :

December 30, 2011 - Marques will be here with me!!!

January 9, 2012 - Marques flew back to AZ :(

I think Skype (and any of the others) should be given some kind of humanitarian award for all their help. I think many relationships would not be as strong or for that matter survived the long distance thing.

See that is so true. I don't know what my husband and I would have done without it. Relationships can continue to grow, families don't feel so far away. And YES if USCIS and CIS would actually USE THIS SAME TECHNOLOGY. We would be happily ever after at this very moment!

Get with the times? Heck, if USCIS used technology that was 10 years old they could process petitions faster than they currently do. If they're having computer problems I have a 9 year old son who could help them get online!

I remember back in the day when use to pay a arm and a leg to call long distance.

we both have android phones so easy to talk on ym even if i am not at home or she just picks up the phone and calls me thanks to vonage. Now with ym and voip its great, I got my fiance vonage so she has a seattle number and she calls me all the time vonage has worked great for us and crystal clear just like she was here with me :)

have to say i love vonage even when i am over in the phil. when ever i call back home to the states it allways been loud clear and great
