Applicants aged 16 years and older must getpolice c ertificates from other countries where they have lived/work for six (6) months or more after reaching the age of 16. So yes you need to get from Dubai. I would think you would want to do this sooner than later as it can take time (depending on country). I am not sure who you contact first but you might want to try their embassy if they have one there, or someone else may post that information.

Good Luck

thank you for the reply. God Bless.

No, it's TWELVE months in another country (other than your home country), not six. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html scroll down to Police Certificates. There's a table.

The following is from the U.S. Embassy Manila website:

Police Clearance

NBI Clearance/Police Clearance (also specify if lived abroad in another country for more than a year)

NBI clearance and police clearance. Applicants aged 16 or older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and a Police Certificate from every other country where they have lived for one year or more since reaching the age of 16 (six months or more for K visa applicants).

Hello...its about trying to get the correct information.I heard others say that worked in Dubai and going through K-1 process.some we know personally. I wanted to make sure that was correct information because as you know Police certificate is required. But USEM and Dubais website said either we were exempt because of not being able to attain it since we not living there now.and also Dubai wont send Police certificate anyway cause as they said we not living there. My Fiancee will not of course have hers for interview according to USEM and she will print it out and take it with her just in case. Good Luck!

I agree with southcalhog, beejay, and teapotgurl. My post was not a comment about the need for a police clearance from Dubai. It was only a comment on the time element.

I was simply responding to Vanessa and Tony's post where they said police certificates are needed for anything over 12 months. However, Manila wants police certificates from K-1ers who have lived abroad for six months or more.

I must have missed it. Where did you say it's six months for a K-1 applicant?

I didn't. I now see the underlined portion.. yet another Philippine specific item. I apologize I never noticed this was in the PI forum.
