Wifes' niece

I was wondering if there was a way for me to bring my wifes' niece ever here to the States. My wifes' sister and brother-in-law would be willing to sign whatever papers needed to get her here. I would and could fully support her. Our niece is about 4 yrs old. Is it possible, What would i need to do, and what is the timeline for it? Thanks for any input.

Under what visa are you looking for? A niece or nephew is not an immediate relative for immigration purposes so you're really looking at a tourist visa or a student visa.

Given that your wife can naturalize next year, have her petition her sister once she has the citizenship. That way niece will get there - in 10-11 years.

There is no means to bring a niece or nephew to the US directly. No one can petition for a niece or nephew.

Once your wife becomes a US citizen, she can file an immigrant petition for her sister. Her sister's husband and child will be derivative beneficiaries who can immigrate with her. This takes about 11 years.

Niece only comes if her mother is granted an immigrant visa. Others have given the time frame. 10+ years.
