My husband had his visa interview recently at Mumbai embassy. Whole interview went well but at the end they asked our first communication in written. My husband didn't have it that time. When my husband said we met thru matrimony website, officer said he needed proof that we were having profile on website. After getting married, we deleted our profile which is not retrievable. They also asked Singapore clearance certi as my husband stayed there for more than year. When my husband inquired with Singapore authority, they said they don't issue certi to non Singapore citizen. Thas why we didn't apply for it. Now immigrant officer put our case on hold till we submit clearance certi and provide proof of having profile on matrimony site. any idea on how they process delay cases? when should we expect our visa?

I would contact the matrimony site that you belonged to and request this information from them. Put it in writing via an email. Usually, any site has a contact us button. Wait for the reply. If they tell you they can't provide it, keep both emails and send this. Make sure you give them your usernames and passwords for the both of you and the reason for your request.

I would also contact the Singapore authority by phone and in writing for this request. When you speak to them ask them to fax you a statement that confirms that they will not issue the report to a non citizen. Make sure you are clear that your husband is not getting his visa because of this requirement. Surely, they can make a statement in writing for you.

I would send a cover letter explaining the situation and provide them with the correspondence with both parties.

I had my interview at the Singapore consulate and as part of packet 3 requirements, Singapore clearance is a must. But before the agency sends the clearance to the embassy, they ask for a copy of the instructions to make sure it is valid. Please get your hubby to communicate with them, I'm sure the instructions are all written. It takes a couple of weeks before they submit the document. Good luck!

I did try to contact matrimony site, but they are refusing to acknowledge that i used to have profile with them for security purpose. I m not worried about singapore certi cz it will take couple of weeks and they will submit to embassy. The only problem is about getting matrimony info. If they dont give it to me...what am I suppose to do?

When you sign up for a matrimony site, they send you an email welcoming you and usually it confirms your username. I would look for that email.

If u signed up for a matri. site was it paid or free?

If paid, you should have a credit card purchase for the monthly invoice. That's is your proof.

If free, you should have a welcome email somewhere with your registration number and password.

Good luck

Good idea. Another option may be to "bargain" with the site. After all, you are one of their success stories, you got married! Say they can use your story in advertising if they give you the profile info.
