For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations. Good Luck!!!

The file will go from USCIS to NVC for a brief stay (you case will be assigned a case number) before it is sent to the proper consulate/embassy where you will have your interview.

Thanks guys!

Our I-129F Fiance Visa petition is approved. What does NVC or Department of State does to the petition?

I read online our case status is in post decision activity stage. They sent my fiancée a notice stating instruction of what to do. He just told me that they are going to send me papers to fill out. He hasn't sent me a copy of the notice so I can't be specific. Do you know what papers his talking about?

Well I haven't been there yet but I'm pretty sure ur fiance was talking about packet 3. U should find out about that on this site, try to find 'embassy info'. Exactly what gets sent will vary depending on the consulate. If I'm not mistaken u have to fill out and sign the DS-papers. But remember do not sign DS-156 and 156K application forms. Fill them out but don't sign them until the interview itself, as the signatures must be witnessed by the consular official.

Here is the link to the Vancouver Consulate K-1 Visa page where you'll find your info: http://vancouver.usconsulate.gov/visas/fiance-visas.html

Looking at the page you only get a letter telling you to download packet 3.

Best wishes!

Thanks guys! I just have to wait for the packet in the mail to find out.

Hey ST&EE031906xo, I saw you were in Calgary, Alberta. That means you're probably going to the Vancouver Consulate. So you are in very good hands. Things will go really quick from here on out.

I only have one piece of advice for you at this stage. If you have not yet done so, get the beneficiary's police check done immediately! I'm from Calgary too and my police check took six weeks to process and get to me. My record was completely clean and I just needed to get the standard police check without the fingerprints and it still took that long. I had tried all possible avenues to get it done sooner, but it just was not happening. I was delayed at the Packet 3 stage because I had to wait for the police check to come in so go out and do this as soon as possible if you haven't already done so! Congratulations on your NOA2, good luck with the rest of your journey. :)
