USCIS- 260 Days

6/8/11~ Mailed I-130 Application, withdrew Canadian PR application
6/16/11~ NOA1 email and text message Case routed to CSC (Priority Date)
7/12/11~ The 'Money Order' Incident/Returned to Tennessee
8/03/11~ TOUCHED!
3/2/12~ APPROVED! NOA2!

NVC Electronic Processing- Montreal- 19 Days

3/21/12~ Received case number & IIN 20 Days after NOA2
3/21/12~ Sent in opt-in email
3/22/12~ Opt-in accepted
3/23/12~ DS-261 Submitted, never accepted
3/29/12~ AOS bill invoiced and paid
3/30/12~ AOS shows PAID- AOS Package emailed/received, DS-3032 emailed/accepted
4/2/12~ IV bill invoiced and paid
4/3/12~ AOS Checklist documents emailed(first time)
4/4/12~ IV shows PAID- DS-260 submitted/ IV Package emailed/received

Hi, I know that you are frustrated but, as much as possible try not to let it get you down, just remember it WILL WORK OUT !!! for you both. :D Use this time to strengthen your relationship together. I know for my fiancee and myself it helped us to get stronger or closer because of all the time we have waited and the many issues we've dealt with along the way. It helped even early in our relationship,in our case -(before we're marriage)to learn how to uplift,encourage and even honestly acknowledge some possible issues or weaknesses we might have had with one another and to address them. Just remember literally everyone here knows how you feel and what you are going through in many different ways.

I have no doubt you will have many other people here offer you their support, prayers and encouragement and when it does all finally fall into place and happens you will both be doing this !!!!!! :wow: it's finally over and continue a beautiful life together.

You can then continue the VJ spirit here and pass on your encouragement / experiences to others as they go through the same process.

I completely understand the frustration...

However...

Now that we're within weeks of my husband arriving here for good, I'm starting to think about how my life is about to radically shift! I'm kind of going to miss my carefree days of not having to check in over every little thing. Right now, I don't have to consult with anyone about their schedule, their moods, or their desires...no compromises! Everything is done my way! Living with someone, even the man I love, is going to come with significant sacrifices.

So...I'm going to enjoy my last few weeks of relative freedom. It's been tough here and there, but in the scheme of things, life ain't too shabby! I've enjoyed having quiet time to myself: I started a running program, I spend time with my friends, and I cherish every moment we have spent together without fighting over the stupid stuff people who live together get annoyed about.

Feb 7, 2012: Passport requested by Consulate
(...Husband needed passport for personal reasons during this time...)
Apr 9, 2012: Passport mailed to Consulate
Apr 25, 2012: Visa issued
May 1, 2012: Visa in hand
May 31, 2012: POE at Montreal's Trudeau Airport
Early July: Physical Green Card received in mail. Yes, it's green!

March 13, 2014: ROC filed (went to VSC)

March 17, 2014: NOA

April 22, 2014: Biometrics appointment

December 9, 2014: Case inquiry initiated

December 11, 2014: Response: "The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending."

March 14, 2014: Received NOA that approval had been given on March 10; expect new GC within 60 days.

As my 8yo would say 'you guys are the bestest!' It's nice to know I'm not alone.

I know the government does not get in a hurry for anything. Since I've started college (again)it hasn't been as bad. I made new friends and I've been busy busy busy with studying and home work.

I just want him here! I miss him! Holidays are the worst time for me. I hate he's not here, the kids hate he's not here. And knowing Christmas together isn't going to happen this year just makes it worse. :(

I got a little down in the dumps thinking about everything my husband was missing here, but staying busy REALLY helps, and who's to say you have to have Christmas on December 25? I know it's hard, but creating family traditions that are unique can be really fun. And while, in the short run, there is a lot of sacrifice, everything you will share in the future will be that much more meaningful and worthwhile.
