I learned something from this. I went and researched to see if Jewish people have higher incomes than other faiths (per the stereotype) and the answer is no. They are comparable to most other faiths.

What I did find was that people from Hindu faiths are proportionally wealthier. My first thought was that it makes sense in the US where the religion is primarily tied to immigrant families. Because only the wealthiest of the highest caste make it to the US from India they naturally have a great deal of education as a result. But then I looked at Islam, another generally immigrant faith, and found the opposite. Muslims are proportionally poorer than other faiths. So why the difference? My only conclusion is that perhaps that faith is greatly affected by asylum seekers who are poor.

Any thoughts?

Also when I say immigrant faith I do not mean any disrespect. Clearly all major faiths are immigrant faiths (with the exception of Mormonism?). I'm referring to the last 50 years.

You'll probably need on the click on the income tab.

Also I should point out that it shows Islam is poorer than other immigrant faiths (per my previous clarification) not all religions as I said previously. For instance, there is no real difference between Islam and say Evangelical Christians.

The poorest appear to be Jehovah's Witnesses.

Oh and by the way, I miss read the Jewish line. The data DOES reinforce the stereotype!!

I would think the Jehovah's Witnesses would have more money with not having to buy Christmas gifts and all.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Thank you!

That's not at all the information my firm receives from our marketing partners. We use them rather than polling firms because their methods tend to be more nuanced. The 2011 “Multiculturalism & the American Muslim Consumer Market” conference was held a few days ago, and I'm looking for a synopsis from our staff to see if the information, substantially different from Pew's, has changed.

They have to walk around for 2 years right (or is that mormonism?)

That's the Mormons. But both of them run around knocking on doors. Whenever you see someone in a black suit carrying a bible then you know it's time to lock your door. It's like dodging tricker treaters...if you don't answer the door, eventually they will go away.
