Dear all,

Many thanks for convincing me not to get an atourney. I do believe I am saving a fortune doing this myself although my BP and stress levels are through the roof.

Quick question, on the guides on this website, (www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos) step five says that:

K-1 Visa Holders: submit copy of NOA2 "approval" for I-129f

What is this and where do I find it? That is the only missing piece of the jigsaw, I want to get this off asap and this is the only thing holding me back.

Many thanks as always you fantastic people, I may have given this up a long time ago without your help and support.

Fergs.

The NOA 2 is the notice you received for the approved I-129f from USCIS prior to your case going to NVC. Did you get a hard copy in the mail?

Thanks,

I got letters from the US Embassy in London saying:

"Dear Mr <my name>

We are pleased to inform you that we have received an approved petition in support of your fiance or K3/4 visa application. You now need to complete appropriate forms and collect required documents. A detailed explanation of the process is found at: http://london.usembassy.gov........

It goes on, but I received nothing in the UK from USCIS. Just letters from the US Embassy in London.

Any ideas?

The NOA2 (called the form I-797) is sent to the petitioner in the US. That is the approval of the I-129F. Photocopy it, and send it along with your AOS.

Oh boy.. that's going to be a tough one. My fiancee (now wife) has since moved house and all the paperwork is in a box buried under another box.. is it really essential that this is sent or could I get away with not sending it... I have everything else, I even got a new medical carried out today..

These things are really sent to test us aren't they.

You don't have a copy of it, either hardcopy or a scanned one?

If not, look at it this way: A new one(replacement from USCIS) costs 405 dollars. If you spend two hours looking for it in those boxes you'll be saving approx 200 dollars an hour. Happy search : )

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

If MarioKart came with it I understand why she's holding onto it. Glad you found the NOA2 though : )

Don't forget to include the instructions for the Super Nintendo in your AOS package: what else do you think they are doing all day long, to take several months to just look into a file, go through the documents, and approve it?
