Hey VJ Fam !! Hope everyone is Good and NoA2's are flowing in for you....unfortunately my case seems to be a "special" aka one that is taking a long time to get approved.....so much time has elapse from our NOA1...

BUT 5 months is enough ....even though Vermont is said to be behind in processing time...I'm currently looking into contacting my local congressman....but in some search in previous post on VJ I saw how some people are going about this in different ways....some are going thru the "Representatives" or senator / congressman/woman themselves.....which was from outcomes work best for you? and what was your method of communication....some are talking about filling out a forrm, writing letters.....or calling? Also just to be sure i have the right congress person for my state I've used this site....http://www.contactingthecongress.org/ and got

Asking your congressman/senator to get involved is ok, IF you have a serious problem. Just because you think you are special due to a longer than average wait time is not particularly something they will spend time with. They will want everything in writing explaining your problem and what you want to happen. A phone call will not work. I would strongly suggest you do an infopass at Federal Plaza and find out what is the delay first. And then based upon that reply take it from there. If they say they are still doing some back ground checks your representative will really have nothing to to work with.

I had to contact my representative, for example, because my wife's son was aging out, the embassy had lost his file, and he HAD to get something going quickly or else he would have been denied entry. That was a serious issue.

All the people you listed are good. But do some homework first.

If you do decide to involve a representative, you'll need to go to their website and download an information release form, fill it out with all pertinent information and then fax it to them. Each congressperson has a liason who works on their staff, and they coordinate requests to USCIS.

It is a mandate for USCIS to respond to a congressman's office inquiry, although there is no guarantee that this will expedite your process.

Typically for a congressperson to interviene on your behalf you'd need a reason to either expedite a petition already in process or for cases that have well exceeded the USCIS posted guidelines for processing the petition.

Just because USCIS posts a processing time of 5 months for example does not MANDATE that they have to adjudicate it. It means this is a goal for the agency, and like most goals - some are made, others not.

Yes, I have to agree with you here... At this point you need to contact USCIS and verify what is happening and if they can give you any further information on the delay. Actually if you look at the filing time period, going through Vermont you are right about on schedule...UNLESS they changed since a few months when I was going through there.

I myself had to get my Senator involved but that was only once my approval left the NVC and had arrived at the Nigerian Consulate. They sent me repeated emails with my K-1 Interview packet attached and NO letter/invitation to interview. After sending the Nigerian Consulate repeated emails explaining there was NO information about the date and time of the interview cause they kept sending an email with NOTHING except the image of the DOS seal in the body of the email, I figured enough was enough as I KNOW he will need this to gain entry into the Consulate gate on interview day.

So, I found a listed of all my elected officials and called the very first one which was a Senator. They were VERY helpful and within a week I had the interview letter he will need.

I MUST agree with Enigma11561 here, it may be premature for you to try and go to the extreme of contacting your Congressperson or Representative at this point. You never know... you MAY need the MORE down the road so why use that resource before you need to

I believe in God's timing but just had a moment of anxiety....thanks for the advice I guess I'll just have to sit back and wait on His timing as much as i feel the constantly urges to contact the congress personnels

Yea....i guess im a bit anxious...lol (lies) im a lot anxious but im gunna hang in there....its been 5 months now which usually was normal processing time. on the site it said they are at 5.6 months now for vermont....so i guess ill wait around 2 more weeks ....adn there goes christmas with my baby i was so prayful for christmas with him....next year i guess

I am not sure that I agree with you about when to contact your congressman. I believe the more people that contact our congress, the better. It brings an awareness to a very important issue -Legal Immigration. Yes, they are aware that the system is extremely flawed, but until they have to deal with the people over and over again...They will not take action.

I work for the largest technology company in the world. Mainly, we are known for our Intellectual Property Portfolio. There are systems that the government can implement into the legal immigration process that will save taxpayers millions and applicants months of agony. Contacting our congress is the way to go to get these systems implemented. (No, I would not pitch any idea of using our IP. Our Senator is a shareholder for our company. He is quite aware.)

On a personal note, I contacted my Senator after my husband's tourist visa was denied. I posed the question to the Senator, "Does it sound reasonable that my husband can not come visit me for the holidays because I am American and I have a good job?" This was the reason the consulate gave my husband for his denial. I then asked, "Does it seem fair that our government will allow someone to visit our tourist attractions, but not let the spouse of a hard working US Citizen have some quality time with his family?" I was contacted the day after I sent my letter to the Senator, not only by email but also by telephone. Interestingly enough I had just received my UCSIS receipt number for the I-130 minutes before. Will they help me? I'm sure they will. Why? Because I am an American citizen. What kind of help will they provide? I don't know, but I know that if I didn't take the opportunity to voice my concern I would be less of an American. It is our job as Americans to communicate in order for solutions to be made. I encourage anyone who has the fire in themselves to communicate with their congress and let it be known your dissatisfaction with a very flawed system.

Then again, I'm not one to sit on the sideline and be ok with something that does not work, and our Legal Immigration process does not work for me.

Just to be clear, I did not contact the congress because I wanted any special attention with my case. I see a problem and I am more than willing to talk about it, especially with my Senator.

Actually, the NOA-2 would have to be in your name with your fiance as the beneficiary. Having it in Jesus's name will not do you any good!

I really do know what you are feeling. We're all in the same boat waiting for the magical email or text message. It will come soon I am sure.

We filed in April, the time that our petition was looked at and the timing of our RFE confirmed they (USCIS) are not following their own mandate about processing in order of receipt. So we just did the filing of the privacy release form to our congresswoman in hopes it will be looked at. Others, just on this site, had petitions filed months after us and received RFE's before us and have already been approved. So yes we believe it is time to ask for a liaison to step in on our behalf. That is part of their position.

Just what we felt was needed at this time.

Oh Heck I have to go back and retrace my steps. It was in some US government site.

But that is why we went with contacting our congresswoman . It even has visa specific tabs to click on the congresswomans website. They are there to ask as liaison in regards to visa concerns so why not use this resource, as this is a real issue.

Sorry I can't give you the answer to the question.

FYI, we filed June 5th and got our NOA2 approval email on Thursday I was freaking out, too, then BAM. Email!

Go ahead but there is only a slim chance they will be able to do anything. If you are 10 months, maybe better chance. You have to wait and there is nothing you can do about it.
