She lives in Taguig City which is close to Makati City, so I will get a hotel in Makati City. I hope to stay 3 weeks this time whereas last time I could only stay 2 weeks. I was last there in August of 2011. For me, the flight is even longer since I fly from Atlanta to Japan which is 13 hours. I'm thinking of going a different route this time just to make the longest flight a bit shorter. Also, I didn't have any sleeping medication last time I flew either. I thought I would have no trouble sleeping, but I was so wrong.

Hotels in makati are expensive, why not just stay somewhere much cheaper? Or stay in taguig? Yeah its a long flight and its hot here/raining a lot so dress accordingly

There are many hotels in Makati that aren't expensive. For example, LPL Suites, BSA Tower and Prince Plaza II right across Greenbelt 5 have very reasonable rates. The first time my husband came here, he stayed at LPL Suites and paid only 2000+ php a night. There are also inexpensive hotels on P. Burgos St., like Oxford Suites and Citadel Inn, if you don't mind staying in the red-light district. There are more choices in Makati than in Taguig. I live here in Taguig, and there are condotels here at The Fort, but they're pretty expensive.

ok every one does not get snow, but i am from spokane, have moved back to seattle to get away from the snow but still it is cold here that is why i spend most of the winter in the philippines at least that is what i tell the fiancee  ah come on it just gives me another excuse to go see her :)

It sure is geting cold here now, time for me to go back to the philippines tell she gets her visa

I live half way between Spokane and Seattle on the South Half of the Colville Indian Reservation. It is 2800 feet elevation here, and it was 19 degrees F. this morning. We get lots of snow, wind, drifting, road closures, and freezing temperatures, 5 above to 35 below F. We visit Spokane often, and we were in Seattle last April. I had a chance to go with friends to the Philippines November and December, but my circumstances for that did not work out, as I rent a couple of houses, and renters have not cooperated with me very well, but things are getting better, so maybe I will be able to visit the Philippines in the not to distant future, hopefully! I love it!

I agree! I dressed with a shirt and tee shirt under that like I do here at home, while flying into Manila. The entire time I was in the Philippines I never put on a shirt over my tee shirt again, as it was just too hot for the second layer!

asiana airlines allways seems to be booked around that time of year

when i go i allways change my return as i allways over stay my flight. So as allways i miss my flight im thinking no big deal will just call and rebook lol i got stuck in angeles city for another 3 1/2 weeks as they were fully booked due to chinese new year.

i guess it would be the leg of the flight from seattle to korea that is booked. I have seen this the last 3 years allways problem getting tickets at the last min around jan.

But i fly only asiana airlines great service and got to love those air miles :) just got back from phil. on a free ticket (ok not really free u still have to pay 430 dollars just in taxes and airport fees) lol.

I agree with you, as I flew Asiana Airlines, and I loved it. The service with superb with lots of smiling while serving. A lot of people complain about the hours they have to spend in the air flying. Well, I enjoyed every minute of it. I watched the television screen in front of us displaying altitude, ground speed, temperature, and also with maps showing what territories below us we were traveling over. We flew up over Western Canada, Western Alaska, West of Siberia, China, over Japan, and then landed in Seoul, Korea. I guess I am like a little kid, because I had more fun, enjoyed all the food and juice drinks brought to me. I enjoyed communicating with an Asian lady sitting next to me, even though we had no common language. We showed each other pictures, and you would be surprised how much communication is possible without words. It was all fun, and I had a change to do it again this year, but I had things going on in my life that made it impossible, so I had to tell my friends, sorry, not this time! I cried a lot after telling them that, and I am still crying when I think of all the fun I am missing this year, but maybe next year, the Lord willing!

I have almost 10,000 miles towards my next flight. I joined the Asiana Flyers' Club, and now I am dreaming!

So true. It just takes a little work online or pounding the pavement to find them.:whistle:
