Hello all,

I just completed my B2 visa application online. For my salary details I only put what I take home. Not my base salary (which is more). I did not realize that i did that until it was to late. On my most recent pay stub it actually shows both take home and base salary. I dont want the interviewer to think i was lying. If anything I think it will help me out to see that i actually make a little more. I think they would use their discretion in that case. Also will it be ok if I include a cover letter? Just two short paragraphs of what i do for a living?

Since your gross salary (base) is higher than your net salary (take home), and you used the lower number, you should be fine. It wasn't lying...it was a misunderstanding. You can take your pay stubs with you to the interview in case they ask.

You can always include a cover letter if you want. There's nothing wrong with it. But it's not required.

Care,

Bill
