Hello All! I want to make sure I am clear on all that is REQUIRED when preparing/submitting my I-134 documents at the Nigerian Consulate for the K-1 fiance visa. Below is a checklist of what "I Believe" we may need... Can you please verify IF this checklist is correct and letting me know if it is TOO MUCH and paying special attention to the questions in bold. I am trying to understand what is the minimum of these things listed below that is acceptable as supporting proof.

Petitioner

Form I-134, Affidavit of Support (Notarized?)

Letter from work on company letter head

2-3 months of pay stubs

Tax returns (How many years is necessary? Notarized?)

Bank Statement

Co-Sponsor

Form I-134, Affidavit of Support (Notarized?)

Letter from work on company letter head

2-3 months of pay stubs

Tax returns (How many years is necessary? Notarized?)

Bank Statement

I am aware that even though I have a co-sponsor that I/myself MUST still fill the I-134 form as well. And NOT COUNTING myself; my Co-Sponsor makes more than enough for the poverty guidelines. These are my questions please:

1-Does BOTH the I-134 & Tax Returns NEED to be notarized?

2-Are there any OTHER documents that SHOULD be notarized?

3-What is the MINIMUM of the documents listed above that should be brought to the Naija Consulate during interview?

4-If a petitioner is using a Co-Sponsor cause they are unemployed; would it be wise for the petitioner to also submit proof that they are ACTIVELY seeking employment since they have NO OTHER supporting documentation?

Thanks in advance for all your continued help & support ;)

You need tax transcript and not tax returns for Lagos.. If your co-sponsor made more than the poverty line, then you should be fine. You need at least 3yrs tax transcripts and minimum of 6months pay stub is fine. It won't hurt if you provide more.

Tax returns are never Notarized. And your i-134 is not necessary to be Notarized either.

hi, just curious: what are you calling tax transcripts? Would that be the W2s? Why not tax returns again? Is that a Lagos thing? thanks.

silly question: what's tax transcripts vs. tax returns?

Hello OP, what did you end up doing on the I-134? Did you get it notarised?

Thanks.
