Our congressman was successful in getting the islamabad embassy to reply to their inquiry. LOL altho it didnt say much more than what DOS is telling us.

Simply put... The case is in normal processing at the embassy. There is nothing wrong with the case as it is undergoing the procedure and will contact the beneficiary when this is complete. No timeframe for completion.

They did reassure the congressman that our case was fine and it was not in washington or with any other unit within the embassy but is in normal processing.

Now.. LOL OMG i had no idea that there are so many ways to say ap :bonk: ... So what is Normal processing? :blink:

So is it just a matter of time? I know... :( nobody knows.... just hoping for somebody to see some hopeful signs in this :((

Just ready for my husband to come home :) and live our lives...

You know it takes a relatively long ap for middle eastern men to get approved , which is stupid. They don't consider anything less than six months " unusual "

yeah i know :( but at the same time each time we call dos there is a little smthing different in their answers so i guess you try to decipher the codes.. URGH... but just wondering if normal processing just simply means nothing out of the ordinary... simple name checks or smthing like that...

Atleast its quite RELEIVING that its not in some another unit for verification, or sent back to US !!

Dont worry, now your case will be soon approved Inshallah.. my friend underwent the same scenario as you.. and guess what after gettting a response from his congressman, in 3 days he got a call to pick up his passport with visa... so hang in there my friend!!

Thank you for that.. and yes your right it does seem to be just ordinary processing checks...my husband and I have agreed from the begining that it doesnt matter how long it takes..we are doing evthing right and we may be quesitoned as im gori not desi but our relationship is as real as it gets for a husband and wife so we may endure hardship but good will come from it..Allah blesses those who struggle and wait... Inshallah maybe after EID...

It is great that Islamabad answered the congressman's email. I like the fact that they said normal processing. I pray your AP will be over soon.

Yeah me too instead of additional processing or security clearance or so many other things that could delay even more... hopefully we will hear something in the next month or two!!! praying hard anyway for both of us...

Seems like an eternity, Skype is the main thing that keeps us sane!! It's been almost a year apart now, the journey could have been much shorter and I'm a bit jealous of those who have no problems.......but...we shall persevere and be stronger for it. I hope you will get good news very soon (Inshallah). Today I have very good news to share with you. I got the call from embassy and they asked me to come and collect my immigrant visa and package from embassy. I rushed to embassy and finally got what we were struggling for last few month (Alhumdulilah). It took me exactly 2 month , 1 week and 1 day to come out of AP after interview and get my visa. I really hope and I pray that you guys will soon get out of this black hole and soon I will listen good news from your side especiallu I was thinking of 'EAbass' and 'Carolynhotstuff', who desperately waiting to get out of AP. At the end I would like to say thanks to all vj members for their extra ordinary support and help. Now I am planning to fly to USA and my expected POE will be SFO . I will share my POE experience when I get there somewhere during next week .
