Ok on September 19th we finally got our NOA2 after waiting 171 days!! Now my question is what does my fiancee need to get her medical done in Manila. I understand about the fee, her passport, and 2 pictures on a white backgound. What has me confused is the letter from the embassy with her interview date. I understand that the medical is good for 6 months and I am not sure when I can come over to go with her to the interview, which I really want to do. So if she decides to go for her medical soon what documentation is needed to show them that we are in the process of getting interview and where do we get that documentation??? Thnaks

Congrats on your NOA2!

When we got the NOA2, we emailed NVC to ask about our MNL# and to confirm that our documents were on the way to US Embassy Manila. Just printed the email as proof in lieu of the embassy letter to get the medical.

The letter from the embassy will not contain the interview date. It will advise you that they have your file in hand and that you can set an interview appointment online or thru phone. I did not wait for the letter from the embassy as suggested by other members here since it may take a while. I just tried scheduling online using the MNL# - if the records are already in the USEM system, you can schedule successfully. You may opt to call the embassy line to follow-up, too.

If you want to do it slow you can but at least in Manila she could have visa in hand in about 5 weeks from now. Ours took about 7 weeks but there was almost 2 weeks delay for personal issues. The packet you will get from the embassy has nothing in it. Just tells you to go to the website. The next thing you need is the manila case number MNL#.

You can get it by sending email to

NVCInquiry@state.gov

Hi,Can you please send me the Manila Case Number assigned to my application?Petitioner: Date of Birth: Beneficiary: Date of Birth: Requester: Name, Address, phone

With the case number you can do everything else. (Medical, pay fees, schedule interview)

I did not wait for the letter from the embassy as suggested by other members here since it may take a while.

Our official letter came 1 day after she had visa in hand with the CFO sticker. Don't wait for the letter. You may even have visa and be out of the country before you get the official letter.

The medical can be completed anytime up until a day or two before the interview. She doesn't need an appointment at St. Lukes. It's on a first-come first-served basis.

In order to be admitted into St. Lukes for the medical, she'll need a copy of your USCIS NOA petition approval. You can scan it and email it to her.

She'll also need your MNL case number. If you don't already have it, you can get your MNL case number from the National Visa Center. Call the NVC and talk to one of their reps. Their phone number is 603-334-0700.

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say "her letter from the embassy with her interview date." Did she already schedule an interview? If so, she should take that letter to the medical too.

Now all you need to do is to schedule a couple of weeks off from work.

It's that easy.

Good luck! :star:

If you and your fiancée don't want to wait around for the letter from the Embassy which tells her that she's eligible to schedule an interview, and that gives her instructions on how to prepare for the interview, you can read it right here.
