Hi everyone,

We have recieved the NOA2 at this point and will shortly have to file the Affidavit of Support documents. I am the sponsor for my wife but do not meet the minimum income requirement. Thankfully my dad will be a joint sponsor for my wife who is the intending immigrant. My wife and I currently live in Spain and will live with my parents when we move to the States. With that said, these are the questions I have:

Does my dad have to file an I-864a? From what I understand he needs to have the same principle residence as the sponsor (me), but I currently live in Spain so this is not the case. However, we will be living with him when we move to the States.

I have read different things about sending transcripts for tax returns or photocopies. It would be easier for him to send me photocopies, would this be acceptable?

Also, it looks like I will be filing the I-864 documents around January 2012. Does this mean that he would need to provide me a copy of a 2011 tax return? Or would 2010 and before be acceptable?

I hope I have explained everything for someone to give me advice/opinions. And thanks for all the help in advance!
