DHL had a typo in my reference ID from the applicant summary page

So I just found out that when I dropped off the packet 3 at my local DHL office, the guy messed up the reference Id field. Instead of an 8 right up front he typed B123456 when it should have been 8123456. Anyway, I don't know if I'm just being paranoid but do I need to inform the Montreal embassy about it via email. I tried to locate the shipment on loomisexpress.ca site and it pulls up under the "8123456" number and shows me when packet 3 was delivered. What I really would like to know if that number is relevant at all when it comes to shipping the passports back. It sound to me that it was only for sending out packet 3. The lady at DHL told me over the phone that it will be a waybill number to track down the passport, but my biggest concern right now is that the embassy doesn't know that they don't have the correct reference ID for me (it's off by 1 digit)...so If they try to hand it off to DHL with the correct reference ID (that I also see on the applicant summary page), it may not correspond to the right account and therefore the WAYBILL field on CSC applicant summary page may never get populated. I feel like this is a bad nightmare, I can't beliebve I'm coming up with these worst case scenarios but I just don't want to pretend that everything will be fine when there's possibility that it may cause a long delay in receiving the passport!

What do you guys think, should I email Montreal and inform them about this?

Thanks

Don't worry about the number that was on your packet 3 that you sent in. You will receive a new waybill or reference number when your packet is picked up at Montreal by DHL. Some people (including myself) didn't even use DHL to send packet 3 to Montreal. It won't be an issue. Relax and wait for the email or phone call :-)

Thank you Jeannie, you're awesome :)

I just got an email that the passport has been picked up and is in transit. I can't believe it'll be here on Monday (fingers crossed :).

That was quick! I'm so happy for you :-) Mine was there next day at the DHL in Dartmouth/Halifax. So if your local DHL is open Sunday it may be ready for p/u tomorrow.

Thanks Jeannie! Yes I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the email. Unfortunately they're closed on Sunday, so we'll see what happens on Monday. I will wait until I get the phone call :) ttyl
