Hello! So excited to receive notice that the hubby's interview has been scheduled for December 2. I guess more folks will be getting similar notices! I sure hope so.

I immediately called and scheduled his medical exam for Monday morning (he's working until 8 today). He's supposed to come for a visit next week, so he only had a couple available days to get the exam done. Luckily, the receptionist at Medisys was very helpful.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time understanding this all might be over in a matter of weeks. I've actually kind of gotten used to living like this! It's hard to believe this started eight months ago, harder still to believe so many more people have to wait even longer. We've been so lucky!

Anyone else getting December dates?

Congrats!! Mine was Dec 7 2004!, hard to believe that was 7 yrs ago! Crazy how time flies

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thank you for the greetings  !

By the way, once my wife's case sent to Montreal, is there anyway to track its deliverance to the consulate?

I don't know about tracking to the consulate! I didn't even consider doing that. I'm more concerned with knowing if we're properly registered with DHL. Have you done that yet?

Not yet. Saylin advised me to wait some more time, jut to make sure the package was delivered to Montreal .

Is this really complicated, I mean DHL registration process? What I've looked at the initial stage - it didn't seem to be something out of mind.

Have you registered already? Were there any complex questions after you have entered your bio-data?

No, it was simple, but one thing that made me question was which status to choose, because we don't need to use the site to make an appointment, but it seems we have to kind of act like we do in order to register. Does that make sense? Maybe it will once you do it.

I hadn't heard about waiting for the consulate to get the case. I thought we just needed a registration number to present at the interview.

So, which option have you picked-up - "Permanently immigrate to the US (Scheduled by NVC)"?

Have you actually scheduled an appointment, because item 5 says: "Click “Schedule an appointment” (You will not need to actually schedule an appointment.)". So, once you've clicked, have you actually chosen the date or not? How that trick worked for you?

Thank you.

10 am seems early enough to get there before the doors open (at 7:30). I think they start to turn people around when their appointments are in the afternoon. That's just my impression though, since my interview was at 8:30 am I can't really speak for others. You could certainly show up closer to your interview time if you'd rather not freeze in the cold, haha.

I wonder if there are any other VJ members having their interviews in Montreal on December 8th .

I guess, we could probably go to the nearest bar and celebrate successful ending of visa journey (if everything works out OK).

To moderators:

I've come across that there are 2 threads related to Montreal December 2011 interviews. Is there any way to merge them, because I'm getting lost which one should I follow with :D .

The hubby registered with DHL for passport delivery, and this is the overview of it. NVC scheduled his appointment, and it made my heart jump to see "You currently have no appointment scheduled." Yet he has a DHL Ref ID and location selected. Is this normal?
