Anyone ever seen this via London Embassy?

Hey all, been using this website quite a bit to get useful info (has helped a ton), and just had our interview on the 2nd of November.

First off, has anyone noticed the information on the London Embassy website contradicts itself several times? One bit shows you are issued the visa the same day, where all the other bits show 7-10 days courier via DX Secure.

Second, we flew through the interview at Window 16 with a nice American lady (I was present as well as my fiancee) but we were given a blue slip for the courier as we were missing Ana's Portugal police certificate.

Here's the weird bit, and I'm hoping someone has experienced this...the visa has been approved and the lady said it's now being processed (looked like she was sealing all the documents up then and there) but we will not receive the visa until the embassy can see the Portuguese criminal background check. We've had her parents go to pickup the police certificate as it was much faster than waiting 30-45 days for the Portuguese embassy in London to do it via that route, and we were told once we receive the background check we are to call DX Secure who will come and pick up the document, take it back to the embassy, and then return with the sealed visa.

Here's my question: If we get the criminal background check in the next 2-3 days (which we should as Portugal, specifically Madeira, issues documents then and there for basically everything) and the courier picks it up a day or 2 after we phone...will it still take the 7-10 days DX Secure guarantees to receive the sealed and finalized visa?

Anyone experienced this before? Was really nice of the lady not to just reschedule us due to paperwork, and to approve us then and there and also tell us we'd never have to do the London process again (thank the Lord, what a pain that was).

Any opinions or comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Mike
