Google is great for this question so is the passport website for USA. http://travel.state.gov/passport/correcting/ChangeName/ChangeName_851.html

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/ss5doc.htm Download the form and read the directions. I would get a translation, but the social security office that I went into had every document, poster and sign in English and Spanish.

How is social security information going to help the poster get a US passport name change????? Nowhere did they ask about SSN they asked about US passport.

Lol...I can be an air head. This was my first step to change my passport with my married name. I changed my name with social security first. You will need the marriage cert for this also...Then I sent a copy of my new social security card and my marriage cert to change my passport. And if your passport is less than a year old, it is free to make the change. I am not saying you need to do it this way, but I felt it would be better considering my marriage cert was from Egypt. I had my new passport in 10 days without paying any expedite fees.
