Good to find this group of November filers! We sent our AOS packet last Nov 14..

Got the hardcopies today!

so theres a question that has been bugging me out for a while... its confusing.. my passport has my two last names so when we got the marriage license it showed my two last names, well when my wife got her social they had to put both of my last name in there too.. now when we did the paperwork i put a blank sheet of paper stating that i would like to keep only my fathers last name, and i put one last name only on all forms except the ones that asked for complete name on i-94 which was 2 last names. now we used only one last name on my wifes name too. is there going to be a problem with this, ??? because her SS # now has 2 last names.. but on the forms when it asked "other names used" we put both last names there... hope they dont get confused when doing background checks or something? i dont know.

Finally got a text message yesterday from them that our application got accepted November 4, 2011. Just waiting for NOA1 and Biometrics Appointment. Also waiting for a possible RFE for medical because the people at the clinic were she went to were so damn confusing. At least we got the ball rolling. Good luck everyone!

What name did you write on your AOS forms? Coz from my understanding, that's gonna be your new name so you gotta be consistent with it. We put our maiden names on "other names used". I am not sure but I think they are going to base the background check on the alien number.

Your biometrics date gives me somewhat a feeling of relief. I haven't received hard copy of NOA, even less my biometrics appointment, and I'm afraid it's going to be from one day to another.

Guatemala has left me a huge scar of being afraid of public buses so hubby would have to: 1. Help me get over it with enough time. 2. Go with him, so he would have to ask for a half day off work. or 3. Buy a car for me and get my license before it!

Don't you and your wife want to settle with just one last name? If so, she can change her last name on her Social Security to only one last name. I think
