This is infuriating, I can't believe we're still waiting.........

Any November filers still waiting for green card? We filed 11/25, completed biometrics 12/20, EAD approved and sent 1/27 and since then there have been no updates, I-485 is still in initial review. Anyone else have an AOS at the California service center?

I have +- the same timeline, and still no news

edit:i noticed you got your card, guess mine should be here soon :)

Pui is still waiting to hear anything about her green card. The last we heard anything from them was the approval of her EAD back in late January. It sucks to because last week she had an interview and when she got there they said "Please call us back when you have your green card". I still think we should report that company for discrimination but I think Pui wants to work there because she knows a few people who work there.

Did she tell them she has her work authorization? They may have asked if she has her green card yet and Pui said no, not understand they really want to know if she's authorized to work. Your average person here isn't going to realize the EAD is just as valid as the green card. My wife got a reply like that from one of the temp companies she contacted before she had her EAD. They said to get back in contact with them when she had her green card to, but when she got her EAD, she talked to someone else who said they didn't want people who had not worked in this country before. Which really upset my wife, making her think she would never find work here. Now she's on her second job here, first was doing assembly, the second is a data entry clerk in an office and one step closer to where she hopes to take here career. We're also still waiting on the green card, we sent the AOS in a couple weeks after you.

She told them she had her EAD card and they would not accept it. When she first got there she said the guard asked her for her greencard and said she had her EAD and he wanted her greencard. He called the lady who was going to interview her and the lady came and saw she did not have her greencard and said to call back when she received her greencard. It would be for an assembly job. I guess she would be a contractor there as well. Hopefully Pui's and your greencards come soon or we hear about them soon.

Well that truly sucks. They don't understand what an EAD is, so they tell her to go away until she gets the green card. I really hope you get your's soon, while the opportunity is still there for her. If she's anything like my wife, she's dieing to work and make a contribution to your economic welfare.

I'm not too worried about the green card right now, my wife is working already. But my wife worries about getting an RFE and won't stop worrying until she has it.

Yeah she wants to help contribute and she really wants to work. Right now she is really discouraged and thinks nobody will hire her until she gets her greencard and does not want to try and apply for anymore jobs until she receives it.

My wife has gone through some of the same feelings. The office temp agency that said to call when she had her work permit, then when she did some idiot there said they'd never take someone on with no experience in this country really got her down. Not every company is going to give her that problem. You just have to keep supporting her and telling her the truth, that yes some companies and people will give her problems like that, but most of them are not going to do it. And its hard to find a job now, but the jobs go to those that keep trying and don't give up. Of course she's only going to partly believe you, because you're the husband, but when she finally cracks the market and gets that first job she's going to be so thankful you always supported her and encouraged her. I guess the key I found to keep my wife from giving up is to admit she will hit those problems and how bad it sucks. But also pointing out that not everywhere is like that.

Heck we're both in Minnesota, and we both have Asian immigrant wives, and my wife has managed to find two jobs now. One through another filipina she met, and the other all on her own. She must have applied for close to a 100 jobs before one finally paid off with a job. At times she would give up for a few days, and I would tell her thats fine, take a break for a bit, its exhausting getting ignored and rejected every day. Then when she was ready, she'd be right back cruising the internet trying to find openings again. It wasn't easy for her, but she never really gave up, she just took a break when she needed it. You should have seen the sense of pride in her eye when she had her first pay check in the USA. Hey do you plan to go to the Festival of Nations in a few weeks? She might give the opportunity to network a bit with some others from Thailand and find an opportunity with a company that knows what an EAD is. If Thais are any thing like Filipinos, they'll be happy to try and help her.

Yeah I have said this is just one company and not all companies are like this. I agree with what you have said. I know what it is like looking for a job. I was not working for

I know a few months back some of the women at the Thai buddhist temple in Elk River wanted to know if she would volunteer for the festival of nations but at the time she had just got her EAD and was going to school so she did not sign up. I will have to see if she wants to go when I get home from work tonight.

I just called USCIS since it's been more than 5 months. I first spoke to a Spanish speaking representative that made my nerves come to a boiling point. He said that my application was at the local service center and that I was supposed to send a letter asking when my interview was. He did not know anything of applications going to California, and that if I had an inquiry I was better off making an appointment at the office and asking them what was going on. UGH, he did not listen to any reasons of why I knew it was not in Dallas. So, I decided to call the English speaking representatives line and she said that it was in CALIFORNIA and that they were still processing applications from September 22. She told me to call back in 2 months. GREAT, more waiting! It didn't even take this long for me to get my NOA2 back when we were in the middle of the K1 process...

LOL our NOA2 was so fast compared to this AOS. I was checking for AOS from K1's that were transfered today and it looks like there is very very few getting green cards recently. But then I only looked back through November. A month ago it looked like they were making good progress, now it looks like they're sitting on a shelf while they work on other things.

Does anyone know where we can look up Processing Times for the I485 from a family based visa on the USCIS site? The option doesn't seem to exist or am I missing something? Employment based AOS is claimed to be at about 4 months now, not sure if I believe that though. We can hardly get a service request when there is no set time to accomplish the AOS from a family based visa.
