Well, I have been waiting for an incredible amount of time. Gladly, I did not have any real rush to have my papers, but it was nice to know that I wasn't forgotten, or that I didn't have any RFE.I have finally received the emails saying I was transferred to another service center and my EAD is on it's way. I still have a chance of getting an RFE, but man am I glad there is no interview!!

I am, slowly, learning how to be patient and not a complete control freak! LOL

Finally! Congrats Dee! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

Now, lets wait for the GC.. hopefully it will come soon laughing.gif

Yes, finally!!! I'm blaming it on the fact that I had to write that I was under 3 different names: Married Name, Maiden Name and the stupid name they put on my SSN that makes my moms last name my last name and my dads last name my middle name. LOL, maybe too many background checks for one person? Hahaha.

At least when there's no interview, you don't have to worry they're doubting the relationship. The EAD wait was the big one gor us. My wife so wants to get a job and feel she's contributing, plus it's boring for her without work. She always worked so many hours back in her home country. She says it makes her feel useless without a job her. Now her big goal is landing that first job here. The green card will be great when it comes, but it's not the focus like the EAD was.

Yep, very true. Totally understand how your wife feels, sitting at home for weeks and weeks didn't sit well with me either. I started working at my mother-in-law's company as soon as I got my EAD, just to get out of the house. It's a great temporary solution for until I find the job that I really want- seriously couldn't stand how dependent I felt when I had no money of my own coming in. Best of luck to your wife in her job search! Hopefully she'll find something soon.

We had our interview yesterday at the local Philadelphia office. We were not worried about our bona fide relationship since we have been together for over 4 years and married for one and a half year but I did adjust from VWP and expected questions about that. Anyway there was a long line just to get in the building (took almost 30 minutes). We had an appointment at 11.30 and when we got to the waiting area it was packed as well. We didn't get called until 12.40. The officer was not smiling at all and very formal. After going through the oficial documentation, she asked for my I-94 so I explained that I arrived on the visa waiver program. She asked about proof of our bona fide marriage and I gave her a joined bank account statement, a sworn affidavit from my father in law, our joined car insurance, our application to be added to his health insurance, photos and mail addressed to both of us. She asked for the lease but I didn't have it with me because I am not on it anyway. Then she asked me to step out in the hallway. Ten minutes later my husband was brought there and I had to go back with her and anser the same questions she asked my husband before. Apart from the normal questions like where did you meet etc. she also asked what I had for breakfast that morning and she also asked me to draw our bedroom. After that she went to get my husband and she said that we would receive a decision within 30 days, favorable or unfavorable or maybe a request for more information. It's the options that scared me because the interview went ok and all our answers were the same. Luckily at 5.30 in the afternoon I received text and email notifications that our I-130 was in post decision activity and that card/document production was ordered for my I-485. So good because we were worried because of her comments before. Anyway I already had a trip booked out of the country for this coming Sunday with my Advance Parole but I feel a lot better now that I have confirmation that my green card is on its way as well. Good luck to everybody still waiting on a decision.

Actually that is a problem for you. The second they approved your greencard your advance parole became invalid, so you can no longer use that to travel out of the country, and you'll need your greencard (or the temporary stamp in your passport) instead. You might get lucky and still be let back in with AP, but officially your AP is no longer valid for anything.

And I received my greencard in the mail today, and the approval notification in the mail yesterday :) Good luck everybody else.

Mek, Thanks for letting me know about the Advance Parole. I was not aware of this and when I mentioned to the IO that I was traveling she said that I should just take the Advance Parole and that I would be fine. To avoid problems I will probably have my green card send to me by UPS. Thanks again and congratulations on your green card.
