A weird thing happened with the status on my wife's EAD. The status for both the EAD and AP changed to approved on the 26th of January, with the EAD stating it was being sent to production. Yesterday the status was updated on the EAD again with a January 31st date, stating it was sent to card production. Why would the date suddenly change by 5 days? The AP still has the January 26th date, but not the EAD. Was it sent a second time? Or could a data sending have failed and have been rerun? She called about it and the first level, read from a script CS, just said you'll get your card by March 1st and ignored the question about the date change.

This happens to just about everyone. It is perfectly normal. You'll have your card within days, don't worry.

Thanks Lainie. I sure hope so, waiting is driving my wife crazy lol. She had starting putting out her resume and now was afraid she might get an offer she couldn't accept because of no EAD card yet.

Yup, and when you get the third notification the dot will move BACKWARDS to post-decision activity.

They don't seem to bother to update the AP after the first approval notification, so don't worry about that either.

So I had my AOS interview today. Our appointment was at 12:45 (in San Francisco), we got there just after 12, so had to wait for a while for lunch break to be over/our appointment time to arrive.

After being sworn in, me and my wife had to show our passports and then the IO went over the entire I-485 form, having me verify/answer most of the questions, and then sign the form again stating that all of it is (still) true. Then he wanted to see what we had brought with us, so we showed him our wedding pictures (he kept the letter-sized sheet we had printed to put in our file), and our joint bank accounts and apartment lease (he didn't keep any of those). After some more chit-chatting about how we met etc, he told us that he needed to review the file a bit more, but that we would hear from them within 30-60 days (and he took the I94 from my passport). He didn't explicitly say that I was approved, but he did went on and tell how things happen when I'm approved (AP instantly becomes void, etc), and said that I should definitely get my greencard on time for the little party we have planned for this summer in the Netherlands, so all seemed quite positive.

Ouch, having to wait the entire second 30 days. I feel so sorry for you. I hadn't noticed you had re-requesting the bio appointment after the first 30 days. Sounds like you'll have the EAD fast if you can just get the local center to give you an appointment letter. I'll be very happy the day I no longer have to deal with the USCIS.

Thanks Caryh!! :) Yeap, another 30 days so, 60 days of waiting to get "nothing".I emailed them to the CSC as the person that I spoke to on the phone adviced me to do.Still waiting, now probably for 21 more days, and if nothing happens I need to email again ,and that it is suppose to take 10 days for them to respond...

You know what is more frustrating??? Seeing cases filed after you that have been already assigned an interview date. Not that I envy all those people,I am really happy for them.It is just the rage toward USCIS employers. Our case is not a complicatted case,we didn't do any crimes,we do not live here illegaly.I know I filed everything they asked for. What is going on???

Yes, that is extremely frustrating. We had our biometrics appointment letter not get sent and had to wait once. Right now many that started after us already have their EAD. Then I'll read articles where USCIS is patting their own backs for being more efficient. You make calls and you get people that know nothing except what they can read on the web site, which you can already read. Get by these people and get to the second tier and its a ####### shoot if you'll get a person who knows what they're talking about or even cares. I had one start yelling at me for wondering why it had been over 30 days and still CIS had not forwarded the petition to the NVC. There are some good people their to, but they all have their hands tied on what they can or cannot say, even when USCIS is totally messing up your life with their mistakes or inaction. But the good news is we're both getting near the end of this, and at least we have our spouses with us! Its so much worse to be separated and dealing with USCIS mess ups and delays.

Site now says "Decision" for our case, listing the following: During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

So hopefully that means we'll hear about an approval soon...
