Congrats to everyone whose case is moving along! There is absolute silence on my end (well, theirs) and I'm really discouraged. At least there are only 2 more days until I can call them to complain about not having my EAD after 75 days

no need to be discouraged because you and i in the same boat.and i was worried too. and then i ended up calling the 1800# to see whats going on. and make sure that everything is alright, they told me its in the process and everything is fine and its a matter of time which is 90 days. if nothing change then i have to make a request for it. so lets be patient about it.

Don't get discouraged!! We didn't even get our biometrics appointment letter yet,and we are on our 64th day of waiting, since we submitted our application. We got our AP approved though wich somehow it makes me think that things are going in the right direction and probably soon we'll have our biometrics appt too.So, I think you will hear something pretty soon! Cheer up! :)

We called after not getting the biometrics appointment letter at 30 days for NOA. They put in a request for the bio appt to be made and we got the letter in about a week after the call. We went to the local service center and got the bio taken right away (Jan 5th), not waiting for the appointment date. Today the status just changed that the EAD and AP were approved and in card production.

Thanks, but I don't know how to edit my own post. 02-10-2012 is the correct date.

I went Thursday to the SSA to get an updated SSN - one without the "not valid for employment" notice! This week I'm heading to the Mexican Consulate to get a new passport - I guess you can't renew it if it is older than 10 years, but that's fine with me. My wife and I are planning a trip to Europe and we are so excited that we can finally go together!

We did exactly what you did.We also called them after 3o days of NOA.We got a service request number too and all that.Well, they didn't answer to that request,we still didn't receive the biometrics appointment letter. They say it clear you need to wait for your biometric appointment letter in order to go to your local immigration office for biometrics. You got your appointment letter after you called them,Congratulations! :) We called again after 16 days from the service request and we have been told that we need to wait another 30 days from the date of the request because they have 30 days to answer to our request. So Monday we will call them again because those other 30 days passed too without any biometric appointment. They did approve our travel document though. :)Anyway, congratulations to you and good luck!!! :)

its strange that they approved your Travel document without the biometrics. I thought it was need to get the travel document and Work autherisation approved.

I know ,that is what I thought too.But apparently you need the biometrics just for EAD,or there has been a mistake.I don't know,it is crazy.I will call them tomorrow anyway. :)

I'm pretty sure that biometrics is needed for the EAD and not advance parole.

You are correct. Pui's advanced parole that we originally applied for was approved before she had her biometrics appointment. Later in the evening of the day she had her biometrics her EAD was approved.

AOS Journey

11-04-2011 sent AOS to Chicago lockbox

11-07-2011 delivered

11-08-2011 Date on text messages but did not receive until 11-22-2011

11-23-2011 Check cashed.

11-25-2011 Hard copies of NOA1s

12-06-2012 Pui's Brother unexpectly passes away and we make an info pass appointment and receive an emergancy AP so she can return home. Pui leaves for Thailand for 2 weeks.

12-06-2012 Get a text message and email that she received an RFE

12-12-2012 RFE for original birth certificate. I swear we sent it along with a certificate translation of it.

12-20-2012 Pui returns from Thailand.

12-21-2012 We send the RFE back for with original birth certificate along with a new certificate of translation(I had to wait for her to return for her to sign)

12-26-2012 text and email they have received the RFE.

12-29-2012 Appointment for biometrics is 01-23-2012

01-13-2012 AP is approved.

01-23-2012 Biometrics appointment. Later during the evening the text and email saying the EAD is approved.

01-31-2012 EAD/AP combo card arrives.

05-22-2012 Email and text card is in production!

Just got back from our interview. Felt like it went really well, just asked basic questions and verified the forms... she said she hadn't gotten an opportunity to review our file beforehand so she couldn't make a decision and we'd hear within 30 days.

So I guess I'm still not sure if she's going to find something in our paperwork or something. Sigh.

Ouch, having to wait the entire second 30 days. I feel so sorry for you. I hadn't noticed you had re-requesting the bio appointment after the first 30 days. Sounds like you'll have the EAD fast if you can just get the local center to give you an appointment letter. I'll be very happy the day I no longer have to deal with the USCIS.
