Okay so we filed the I 485 package with the travel and work as well on 1 November it was received. I am in the military went through the Seattle office to have it expedited. We received bio letter appoint for the 12 of December.

On the 23 of November we walked into the office and they were awesome helped us out. I am now currently deployed and my ASAWA is extremely home sick. I am trying to get a hold of the USCIS but now they will not talk with me only her.

On the 28th I received an email notice for RFI for the I 485. Does anyone have any idea what this might be and if so how long it would take?

Also do we have to wait for the entire package to be completed before we will get her I131 so that she can travel home for the duration of my deployment?

It was a sudden deployment and unexpected. and now she wants to go home upset at the process. What I am afraid of is if she goes we have to start an entire process over from the Philippines when I get back home.

Any thoughts and words are greatly appreciated.

God Bless

Well, as far as i know she cannot leave the country (US) without her AP or else she wont be able to come back. It is better to wait for her AP before going back to the Philippines :)

Tell your asawa to wait for her AP so she can be out of the country for a year and won't have any problems going back to the states. No point wasting everything and repeating the process over again. Everybody gets homesick but that's not enough reason. Unless she'll be alone when you get deployed.

Hey, we sent our AOS package at the end of November and received NOA1 in a couple weeks. On Christmas day we received my biomertics appointment for the next week. Yesterday we received text message saying that we have RFE. We have no idea what it might be because we checked everything hundred of times.. Do you think RFE will somehow postpone my biometrics? and how much times does it take to get EAD from the date of biometrics?

I don't think so. Once you get an appointment, you are supposed to show up for biometrics.

Edit: Have her call the 800# on your NOA1'a and have her give you permission to speak on your behalf, I was able to do that for a question we had.

It was a sudden deployment and unexpected. and now she wants to go home upset at the process. What I am afraid of is if she goes we have to start an entire process over from the Philippines when I get back home.

Sorry to hear you will be deployed during this process and take care over there. I think it would be the best if you can hold off on the foreign spouse leaving the country until the green card is in hand. We also got an RFE at the beginning of this month. It took us two weeks and a few days to reply to it because Pui got an an emergency AP to return to Thailand and I had to wait until she returned so she could sign a document to send back with the RFE. We sent the RFE back on 12/23/2011 and today(12/30/2011) in the mail we received a letter that the biometrics is for next month. The RFE was for a copy of her foreign birth certificate, since it is in Thai I wanted to wait for her to return and sign a new certificate of translation. I originally was thinking the RFE was for the medical or the I-864. Go back and look at the paperwork you sent and see if you notice anything you might of missed. Good luck and stay safe during your deployment!

I found out when I checked my status on USCIS website. And just got the texts now

On January 2, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

I'm guessing its the EAD/AP combo card.
