Been a busy last few weeks for us. A week ago Pui's brother unexpectedly passed away at age 29. On 12/06 we made an infopass for Pui to get emergency AP and they gave it to her so she left that afternoon. Later that evening received a text and email that she received an RFE. Saturday I received the RFE, they want a copy of her foreign birth certificate. I thought I had sent it but I guess it got missed and I think they received the english translation of the document. Going to the post office right now to go mail the RFE back. Hopefully they do not request the actual birth certificate because Pui only has one and trying to get a new one is a hard task. She will be back on the 20th.

AOS Journey

11-04-2011 sent AOS to Chicago lockbox

11-07-2011 delivered

11-08-2011 Date on text messages but did not receive until 11-22-2011

11-23-2011 Check cashed.

11-25-2011 Hard copies of NOA1s

12-06-2012 Pui's Brother unexpectly passes away and we make an info pass appointment and receive an emergancy AP so she can return home. Pui leaves for Thailand for 2 weeks.

12-06-2012 Get a text message and email that she received an RFE

12-12-2012 RFE for original birth certificate. I swear we sent it along with a certificate translation of it.

12-20-2012 Pui returns from Thailand.

12-21-2012 We send the RFE back for with original birth certificate along with a new certificate of translation(I had to wait for her to return for her to sign)

12-26-2012 text and email they have received the RFE.

12-29-2012 Appointment for biometrics is 01-23-2012

01-13-2012 AP is approved.

01-23-2012 Biometrics appointment. Later during the evening the text and email saying the EAD is approved.

01-31-2012 EAD/AP combo card arrives.

05-22-2012 Email and text card is in production!

How did you mail them? If you mailed them with delivery confirmation you should be able to check it online with your receipt,on the USPS site ,or other courier,if you used different one than USPS.Hope this helps! :) Good luck!

Just got email that my case has been transfered but still didnt say where......Hope is where am thinking CSC.....

I did complete my biometrics appointment in Detroit yesterday by walking in. They definitely made it clear that they do not like walk ins and at first I thought I was going to get turned away. I would probably only try it if you have some type of proof that you will be out of town because they were asking for that. I was in and out in about 10 minutes.

Finally got my biometrics appointment letter last Saturday, appointment on January 4th. But since I'll be out of town then, I tried to do a walk-in today, and was fortunately successful. The guard here at the Oakland, CA ASC had to ask his boss if he could let me in, so I first had to wait about 20 minutes for him to be available, but then when I explained to him why I was there it was alright, and I was allowed to do my biometrics (which took another 20 or so minutes to wait before it was my turn).

It depends from case to case,each case is different.In our case,we sent them Nov.19/11,they got them Nov.21,and we got text/email from USCIS with the receipt number of our case,and today we got our NOA hard copy in the mail too.So,it took us about 2 weeks before we got our receipt number.

You got to receive your case number or receipt number before you check your case online.If you don't have an account yet with USCIS,you can sign up for one using your K1-NOA receipt and case number,and after that you can add up your AOS case on the same account too,when you receive your receipt number(NOA),hopefully soon.

It depends from case to case,each case is different.In our case,we sent them Nov.19/11,they got them Nov.21,and we got text/email from USCIS with the receipt number of our case on Dec.8/11,and today we got our NOA hard copy in the mail too.So,it took us a little over 2 weeks before we got our receipt number.

You got to receive your case number or receipt number before you check your case online.If you don't have an account yet with USCIS,you can sign up for one using your K1-NOA receipt and case number,and after that you can add up your AOS case on the same account too,when you receive your receipt number(NOA),hopefully soon.

You didn't get your NOA yet for your AOS right?? When you get it,with the receipt number from your NOA go on your I-129 F account and add your AOS case to your I-129F case portfolio.Be patience,it will get to you soon.Have faith!! Best of luck! :)
