Hello everyone!

I am in Ekaterinburg with my beautiful fiance now and we are wondering about the discrepancy in the Consular filing fee to schedule Oksana's interview. In the email I received from "Consular 2 Moscow" the link takes us to a VISA pricing page that says $350usd. However, when Oksana uses the fillable form provided, the amount fixed on the form is 11550 Rubles ($385usd today). Any ideas? Thanks!

The embassy has it's own exchange rate, which is usually higher than the regular rate.

Hello,

I was wondering about that too.. But time is going and I've thought that there is no way to avoid that.. So, last Saturday I went to Moscow and paid that fee at the nearest office of VTB24 bank..They took exactly 11550 RUB. And for now, I am trying to schedule my interview..It seems to be difficult.Good luck! :) Lada

$350 USD

Exchange rate varies daily. It will be the Ruble equivilent of $350 USD using the exchange on that day.

Tricky. So pay in $$$ Can you? We did in Kiev.

Our son's girfriend just paid for a visitor visa in Yekaterinakurg and it was exactly the exchange for $140 USD ???

Today we cashed the Moneygram that I sent to Oksana last month, then bought Rubles, then paid the 11550 Rubles that was pre-printed on the Internet form. The bank only accepts Rubles for payment of the VISA fee.

The new system has you go to the website where the exchange rate is set. Even though the rate varies daily, the website does not keep up. Rather than complain, we just paid the difference. It is set at 33 rubles to the dollar.

I paid in dollars for that very reason - it was cheaper. BUT you can't do it anymore with the new system.

When I was paying $140 for each of my parents' visas it was more than the official exchange rate in Russian banks, but I had to pay in rubles, cause they didn't accept $$$.
