What to wear to AOS Interview?

I got this from a book, that focused on AOS interviews and preparation:

DRESS WELL FOR THE INTERVIEW

"At any given interview, be it job or immigration, non verbal mode of communication says alot about who you are. The examiner will surely factor your physical appearance into his perception of you. As you know, firsts impression lasts a long time. Please put on clothing that will make you look responsible. For example, if you appear before an examiner with your pant drawn down like most teenagers, it will surely affect the perception of the examiner. The examiner might doubt your marriage, because your appearance does not support the responsible role of a husband. Therefore, if you appear like a hooligan or a thug, you may not get the favorable result you desire and deserve. You would have helped the examiner to conclude wrongly. Be moderate, neat and presentable".

This is the best way to describe it. Unfortunately, people DO get judged by their appearance, whether we agree or not. Yes, they will look at your clothes. Yes, they will see if your clothes read "educated and professional." Dress to impress, not disgress....

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

We also wore "business casual", button up shirt with slacks. Most of the other folks being interviewed were dressed the same way, there were a few "sloppy dressers", mostly men with very large jeans that were barely hanging on. Not saying that how you dress should determine the nature of your relationship, but if you were interviewing someone, would you like having to see part of their underwear showing? :)

Certainly dress comfortably, it was a long wait for us, and the waiting room was quite chilly.

I heard the first impression is always important in a AOS interview, so I was wondering what do you and your spouse wear or plan to wear at your Green Card Interview?

Dress like you are going on a job interview. This is very important.Yes first impression says alot.I just had my interview in October and I saw this couple who was not properly dressed and the IO who called them in was literally starring at them like in his mind was where the hell they think they are?So dress like an interview, create a good impression.Blessings to you.

It is an interview. Dress well. Be comfortable.

If you dont often wear a tie, try wearing one for a while to get used to it. Your wife should not wear shoes she is not used to. While a jacket and tie might be the best attire, if you are obviously uncomfortable it will show. If your wife is not used to heels, she will walk funny.

A lot of this will be based on your comfort level. If you get really worried about it, find a reason to dress up and go out. A nice dinner, etc.

Be you. Be a couple. Dress well. Don't wear anything that draws attention from what is importnant, namely your relationship.

Even though 99% of it is about how legitimate your marriage is, I think wearing something nice also gives you a confidence boost. That being said, suit and tie might be a bit over the top. I wore suit pants and a button down; the wifey wore a nice dress and blazer.

Can't believe people wear suits to the interview! All thay care about is your relationship, not how you dress. We wore jeans - no problem!

What I wore to the interview is what I wear to work. So I got dressed as normal. I am sure people can wear whatever they want.

We were packed and loaded to go camping as we interviewed on a Friday and I had the day off anyway.

So - we were wearing our camping clothes LOL

Maybe I was the dude you saw with the old jeans? Anyway - it didnt affect our interview.
