I called the USCIS today to find out why i have not heard anything and they said that my paperwork was put into the system however they were mailing me a rejection letter. I sent them a chasiers check for $1,070.00 She told me on the phone that i was assigned case numbers for the AOS, AP and EAD. Was that the right amount of money? I sent my paperwork AOS to chicago on the 17th of october. They received it on the 19th.

The right amount is $1490 if you filed i-130.

Filing from a K-1 - the AOS would be $1070.00

that includes biometrics.

So you would have to see what the rejection letter says.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

The right amount is $1490 if you filed i-130.

Nope. If you file the EAD request at the same time as the other paperwork, it's free. See the Special Instructions for Form I-765 on the USCIS web site.

Would you mind if i get the USCIS phone number that you have used? I am in this same situation too. My AOS application was sent on October 18 and delivered to Chicago Lockbox last October 20 and up to now, i am still waiting for their email/text notification. Thank you!

I sent a check for 1070. Made out to US dept of homeland security. I ca nt think of anything i missed. I followed the guide to the letter. I hope it doesnt have any thing to do with her shot records.

it could be anything.. like an outdated form or like us our first i130 we filed last year the print out that I printed cut off the last barcode from the paperwork and i didnt notice that so it was sent back rejected due to that. So the next time I made sure it looked from top to bottom just like it did on the uscis website. Im sure its an easy fix... good luck!

I-130 is not an EAD. Misswiss was commenting that if the OP filed AOS WITH an I-130 than the payment would have been more because you have to pay for the I-130 as well as AOS.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

You misfiled or ? paid, when it returns re do. The guides are clear here in VJ, and on USCIS site, i would read both before reapplying.

I am not sure what the reason for rejection would be but the instruction says you cannot abbreviate the departments name on the check. It says the name has to be spelled thoroughly - instead of US Dept of Homeland Security, it should be US Department of Homeland Security. You will have to wait and see what the rejection letter says.

what he did is not a problem, I spelled it exactly like that and had no problems. What they DONT want is people to abbreviate DHS or something like that.
