hi i had my cr1 interview today..was approved in 5 minutes of interview time..and this is for all those people who are taking notes from the internet on what to wear,(though do dress sharp, and that does not mean expensive designer clothes, but clean, well coordinated casual formals)what to speak,my advice is please please be yourself..honesty really works..i had no marriage pics, because we only had a court marriage, and rather foolishly did not click pics..i mean honestly that is really silly on our parts, but i put my point across very honestly to the lady interviewing me(god bless her).she was very nice and extremely polite.we did not hire a lawyer either, and right from filing of the I 130 till the interview did everything on our own..please clearly follow instructions on USCIS.GOV to the last word..especially instructions on your AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT..speak the truth,be calm, composed and confident..the key is confidence, honesty, and calmness..please do not mess your own chances up,by speaking a lie,or manufacture a fact on the spot.it just wont work.and do not worry about the questions asked.because there is no real way to prepare for all the questions..and for all those people whose AFFIDAVITS OF SUPPORT were below the poverty line or around it,please seek a joint sponsor immediately, because all the people whose cr1 cisas were postponed, deferred or delayed were because of AOS income being below..so if you still have to submit your documents to the VFS please get a joint sponsor to sign an I 864,and send it to you asap.also if you,the immigrant have any fixed deposits, money in the bank, please add them under assets,in your original AOS.quite honestly this was the only reason i saw people getting a letter to submit more documents..and honestly if you are asked to submit more documents, especially financial,it could lead to a delay in getting your passport from the vfs even by 15-20 days..when i went to the vfs later in the evening to collect my stamped passport.i spoke to some people who had given their interviews almost a month ago.and were clueless when they would receive their approved passports.so pleasepay a lot of attention to filing your AOS..

thanks guys and from my heart i pray, you are all successful and united with your loved ones soon..god bless...

Congrats Aryanvaid. I remember a case where one didn't have marriage pictures - probably yours but not sure and most of us had said that it is not a big deal and all one need to do is to provide subsequent evidence of continuing relationship. and your case a good example of that. Thanks for sharing your experiences - it helps others.

Yes, AOS is taking the prime imporatance at Interview. Yes, our I-864s were cleared by NVC but at interview we are asked to provide co-sponsor if we are on the borderline or no-income (student) in the prior years (my current income is above 100,000 but still I was a student before and hence my wife was asked if she can provide a co-sponsor, which we did)...... Yes, we must be confident, truthfully and truth always triumphs.

Congrats!

Our i-864 is good to go. Being a student and not making enough I already have my father as my co-sponsor and he makes well enough the poverty guidelines.

Glad everything worked out for you. I hope to report back next week with an approval...

Dev, we wish your wife the very best with her interview. With the I-864 of your co-sponsor, she should be done with relative ease. And we would love to hear the good news.

Joint Sponsor is what I meant. My father is the only joint sponsor.

Hello, has anyone received an interview date for the Mumbai consulate recently?

I mailed the AOS and IV packets to the NVC on Friday and am hoping for case complete shortly. Then it is a wait for an interview date in Mumbai. I'm wondering how the new Mumbai location will affect the interview date assignments. Hopefully the new location will shorten the time for being allocated an interview.

Thanks!

hi,i had to wait a couple of months after mailing to the nvc..i mailed my aos and fees in july, and then was approved by the end of july..then i finally got my date in november...2nd to be precise..sorry buddy but there really is no pattern to this.but my guess is, you could be looking at jan at the earliest.from what i have read in the papers, the us consulate will be closed for about a week till they eventually move,so that may actually slow things a bit.but if i may offer advice, you cant really know when they will schedule an interview, but start in the meanwhile collecting documents, evidence etc.once they approve your AOS you will need a pcc and a passport pcc..which is a real real pain..sorry buddy but looks like it maybe a bit of a wait.hopefully not too long..all the best..
