Its funny that Maven's post got deleted as well.

Strange that a moderator deleted scramjet's racist rant, but left no warning that racism is specifically against the TOS. Oh wait, I forgot, the admin/moderating team here seem to allow racism and misogyny here.

I really don't see what's all the fuss. Why is it that only affirmative and 'positive' opinions seem to be universally accepted? I didn't use obscene words, I merely said that members of a certain racial group in USA should be shipped to a certain continent

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

one post removed for quoting a removed post, post returned below minus the quote:

Agree and want to add that the vast majority of black Americans are not African. They personally never have even visited Africa, so to say ' back to Africa' assumes they were once there...which they were not personally ( unless they are a couple hundred years old).

Of course

But educating people defeats the purposes of a government trying to make people dependent on government whereas prison generates tens of thousands of government jobs, families dependent on government.

The penal system is a productive government business, generating government jobs and promoting the future need for government. The education system is quite capable of putting government OUT of business.

As the crime has decreased due to the widesprad issuance of concealed carry handgun permits (Wisconsin became the 49th state to do so yesterday) Police agencies have been forced to reduce their officers and budgets. While one woud think this is GOOD NEWS, it is not. Police agencies are screaming about it. Is it any wonder that government keeps marijuana illegal and alcohol legal?

Given the fact that almost no one with a college education collects welfare you would think that the government would REQUIRE education for people receiving welfare benefits...if they had any intention at all in reducing the number of people on welfare. They don't, so they don't.

We do not even REQUIRE a high school education in 2011. Why would anyone expect the government to pay for education over welfare and prison? Don't be silly.

Too bad some small minded people can only throw personal insults and nonsense.

I find the chart interesting. Three states known for good education, including the home of Princeton, are shown to spend double on prisons that education. Something is wrong here. Vermont has very few and very small prisons, we even RENT space in the prisons to other states and have a huge population of students (relatively speaking) Burlington's population is more than 20% students. I will say that it is true that UVM is a relatively expensive state school, compared to some others, but the chart would indicate something otherwise and I do not know why. Is there any other information besides this?

I am a big supporter of education and responsible parenting and imagine that all the time and money I spend with my children and on their education is time and money better spent better spent than visiting them in prison.

California spends lots of money on education...for illegals.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
