The real question is WHY did or does it take so long for a select few and then others are quick? This is the question that no one seems to want to answer or know the answer too.

I think no one case is same and immigration want to make sure they are making right decision after all they have bosses to answer too , my case was very complicated but my marriage was true and have been married for over 4 years and love my wife but unfortunately circumstances were bad. But as I always say and believe truth prevails . I exactly know everybody's feeling coz I have been through that , although its a long road just think positive and all will be good in the end. Up to a certain point, the lateness of your cases could be blamed simply on the fact that the VSC is (and has been for several years) massively overtasked and understaffed relative to the CSC, and that load-balancing between the two seems simply not to exist.

But now we're at the point where the remaining cases from Nov. 2011 are significant outliers, even relative the VSC's "normal" timeframe. That means it's almost certainly time to involve your Congressman/Senator. Something has gone wrong. Your congressional rep's immigration liaison office can almost certainly fix it, but neither you nor the phone droid on the 800 number can do anything about it yourselves, except for one thing: file for naturalization.

Remember, you don't have to have an approved I-751 to file for citizenship. If you were planning to apply once you were eligible anyways, definitely do so. That frequently fixes "stuck" files.

I'm going into my congressman's office tomorrow.

I'm under 3 weeks away from it being 1 year since my I-751 was received, out of patience now.

It wouldn't be so bad if we knew what the hold up was. Bobsoni12- I appreciate the kind words of encouragement, and if it was just a couple of cases that had become stuck at the same point I would be inclined to agree with your reasoning.

However, I am fully aware of the fact that my case was as straightforward as you can get in this situation. Never any Issues pre-filing, everything went off on time and in order. The RFE I received was odd, because it asked for pretty much everything I had already sent (even though it claimed I hadn't). And there is also the fact so many people who filed within a couple of weeks of each other are still waiting.

Nicely said Mr jogner I agree with you to it's seems like a black hole in the universe with no end but just hope. Any how I went to my senators office and they ask me if I got one year extension letter and they told me to come back when I crossed a year mark and when I went back they did the inquiry and I was given same answer the one I got from immigration when I did service request . But may be your senator office is kind enough to help you.Good luck

Funny thing is I'd just got home from my local senators office, asking for their help.

Happy I don't have to worry about that anymore!

The letter says it can take 60 days to receive the card, does anyone know how long it usually takes?
