zrntl , good luck in REF, I recieved a REF too and I'm almost ready to send it ... I have a question did you just send new evidence or you send everything that u already send and add more evidence? I'm just a little concern because the letter says do not send what you already send..

In my RFE, it was written, the utility bills were only under my name but not my husband's name which is incorrect.

When I first filed in last Nov, I sent out the bills with both names on it.

So I updated it for 2012 Jan to current.

And last Nov. I also filed our life insurance. But on the list of wht they received, it was not mentioned either.

So I again sent tht with the current proof showing our active profiles.

Another thing, I dont know why they said the joint bank account had no usage...

I collected the most recent statments. Wht I have was those since Apr.2012 to Aug., so I sent them as well...

Anyway, everything on the RFE didnt seem right. Our lawyer gave us the summary of wht to send to respond RFE and we just did so...

Together with ID copies, bank card copies, tax of 2011, and letters from family and friends, I sent out my package...

I dont know how good it is, but my lawyer was very confident...(He was this confident last yr also... )

I hope things work well this time.....the lawyer said wht we this time sent out were the latest, so there shud be no problems....

Who knows wht else I can do...

Spoke too soon. Got home today and got our answer - APPROVED!!! Decision date was 9/13. Hopefully others waiting on RFEs like us will hear very very soon.

FWIW, I checked our status on the USCIS website, and it still says "Initial Review". so clearly this is not a good indicator of approval or not - even after the fact. We are just glad to be done for now.

For those still waiting, hang in there. We sent our RFE back a week after we got it and it took 3-1/2 weeks.

Believe me - I understand your anxiousness. We are moving this weekend and only got our approval on Monday. Cutting it WAY too close.

The good news is that I found out the USCIS mail will be forwarded by USPS and not returned, so even with the green card now "in the mail", we should be able to get it in short order at the new address if it doesn't come by Saturday.

My recommendation would be to would wait until the very day you move to forward your mail with USPS (you can do it online with them as well), and make sure you file your AR-11 change of address with USCIS within 10 days AFTER moving (also online).

Ours was approved on Sep 13 according to the letter we got - it just updated on the USCIS website late last night (Sep 19) (I know cause the text messages woke me up)
