Ok, so I called the USCIS hotline today and asked about my lost NOA1. They said to schedule an appointment with a DHS office near me and to bring the biometrics letter. Then I would get the I-551 stamp into my passport.

Because of the biometrics appointment being scheduled in a city 2,000 miles away they told me to send a letter to the local DHS office together with a copy of the biometrics letter to explain the situation and reschedule.

Like Yurika & Jim already wrote: A couple of people did walk-ins at different DHS offices than they were scheduled for and were let in after explaining the reasons. I will try that this week and see what happens. I guess the worst-case scenario is that they have me reschedule it. So there is not a lot to lose and I can probably get the stamp and the biometrics done at the same time. Any experience with the DHS office in Manhattan on the Upper West Side, anyone? :D

BTW, the hotline of the USCIS was a positive surprise. After the mandatory automated Q&A I got an agent after 10 seconds in the waiting line. He answered my questions quickly and friendly.

Odd thing happened. We got the Biometric letter for my wife, but none for my 13yo step-daughter. I called in because of that, thinking the letter might have gone missing. I was told that USCIS hadn't decided yet whether to take her biometrics yet. That stunned me as they will need a new photo for the replacement card.

Oh well, so it goes.

Hi, I am having the same problem. We haven't received the biometrics letter for my 6 year-old son yet since I already got mine, 12/20 in Boston at 11AM. But I didn't call USCIS, probably I might get the same answer. We decided to take him with me anyway. Please kindly let me know if you have some new info. And for sure I will post mine. Thanks in advance.

I see that there's a lot of November filers received their Biometrics appointment letter. I'm getting a little anxious :( . I hope that everything is ok. I have a feeling that I'm gonna get an RFE or something :(

I filed a petition from me and my daughter and today I just got the biometrics letter for me. I know it's odd thing plus we sent a payment fee for them. The only thing I can think of is, being the principal applicant and my daughter is listed on my dependent, I think thats is automatically been carried to my biometrics appointment.

Date of I-751 = The Date you sent your application

NOA Date = The Receipt Date on your original NOA letter

Biometrics = The Date of your biometrics appointment

Approved = The Date your case was approved

With our NOA1 dated 11/9, no Biometrics appointment letter yet and well beyond the post NOA 30-day window, we called USCIS today for a service ticket. Got our confirmation number and VSC has 15 days to respond. Hopefully that will resolve the missing letter and we'll be able to move forward.

For anyone still waiting for those biometrics appointments and its beyond 30 days, I would encourage you to call.

K-1 - I-129F

Service Center : Vermont Service Center

Consulate : London, England

  • 18 May 2009: Interview - **APPROVED** (213 Days)

AOS - I-485

Field Office: Memphis, TN

  • 15 Dec 2009: **APPROVED!!** 131 Days!

EAD - I-765

  • 02 Dec 2009: **APPROVED!!** 141 Days (recommend do NOT e-file)

ROC - I-781

  • 07 Nov 2011: Package mailed to VSC (USPS Express mail)
  • 08 Nov 2011: Package received at VSC
  • 09 Nov 2011 - NOA1
  • 13 Jan 2012 - Biometrics appointment
  • 24 Aug 2012 - RFE (bummed!!!)
  • 13 Sep 2012 - **APPROVED!!**
  • 24 Sep 2012 - Card received

Maybe there's an issue with ASC in Nashville. I am from Franklin, TN and I did call USCIS today as well about it. I sent the package on Novemeber, 4 and NOA1 was issued November,7. Nothing since then.

I'm literally in your backyard. I suspected the same but considering how much of a breeze dealing with the ASC in Nashville during the AOS/EAD process was has me somewhat surprised too.

I had my biometrics appointment this morning in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was there on time at 8am. That's when they open. There were three other parties scheduled for the same time frame. The guy who did the fingerprinting was nice and polite. It took me 10-15 minutes in the office, including waiting time. Uneventful and simple! Glad to be done with it.

Later, I tried to track my file online. However, my case cannot be found online. Since this is a common theme on VJ, I've decided to not worry for the moment. Their tracking tool seems to be notoriously unreliable.
