So where the hell is my biometrics letter!?? If my biometrics is around a month after my NOA1 than I'll be getting less than a week's notice IF it ever damn well gets here!!!

No biometrics here yet either. NOA1 was on Nov 14th. Also, when I tried to get case status on the USCIS site, it said the case was not found (!?). I'm assuming their system is malfunctioning but I'll give a call tomorrow to see if I can find out status.

My biometrics day is 12/20 at 11am in Boston. But I am still worry for my K-2 visa son. Won't he need to be there if he is only 6? We haven't recieved his letter yet. Thanks for updating my case.

Follow-up: USCIS customer service rep says: You must wait 30 days from receipt of NOA before inquiring case status over the phone. The receipt number on the NOA is not the real receipt number for your case - there will be a second receipt number on the biometrics letter which is different.

She sounded like she knew what she was talking about (and I have enough experience with USCIS reps to make that distinction.) So basically all of us without biometrics just have to wait another week, or two, or three, depending on when you filed.

Yes, I'm still waiting too and got the same answer when I called them yesterday. I asked if they could tell me if a biometrics letter has actually been sent out to me because I am paranoid about it getting lost in the post and she said she can't tell me because the second number she needs to access the system is on.....the biometrics letter!!! What a dumb stupid system! So if one has been sent to me and it got lost and my appointment is next week for example, I don't turn up because I don't know about it and then it looks like MY fault and I have to arrange for another appointment which could set my case back by months. I want to know why people who filed after me have already got their biometrics appointment and I (and others) are still waiting.

I don't get why people are so obsessed about the biometrics letter. Unless you have an upcoming scheduling conflict, why don't you just relax and await its arrival. And even then, you can reschedule the appointment. Your extension letter is valid for a year. Have a cup of hot tea and read a good book instead of worrying all the time.

And even then, you can reschedule the appointment. Your extension letter is valid for a year. Have a cup of hot tea and read a good book instead of worrying all the time.

Several reasons...mostly due to the holidays and not wanting to miss appointments. I know with my business travel schedule, it's difficult enough staying home long enough to get the mail let alone finding out I'm 2000 miles away with less than a week's notice (short notice flights aren't cheap). Throw the holidays in there and the eternal wait and costs we've all gone through, and you worry about every step till it's done.

And yes, we are still waiting for our biometrics letter too - 30 days later. :angry:
