An update on my status. I received a letter dated 04/24/12 informing me that my petition had been relocated to my local field office and that when an interview date was available I would be informed.

I thereafter received a letter in the beginning of June from my local USCIS office informing me of an interview date of 07/17/12.

I had the interview on 07/17/12 and we are now waiting for the response. It was not a Stokes interview and the officer was very polite and courteous. Now we are waiting for the next correspondence, hopefully it will be one informing us that the card has been approved.

Its frustating long wait, you can't move. If you move and change the address, you may never get your card in hand. I wish they start approving ASAP.

Absolutely ridiculous! You would think they would send us an e-mail or letter informing us that they are running really far behind and with a target date as to when they might start approving. as it stands now it won't be until the very end of August, at the earliest. They didn't waste any time taking our money and cashing our checks though.

Quick question:

Will my wife be fine to travel on a Caribbean cruise with just her Romanian passport and green card?

If it's an expired green card, then you'll need your one-year extension letter or an i-551 stamp in her passport.

Thanks!

So that's all she would need? The cruise is later in the year so she should have her new green card by then. I was worried that she wouldn't be able to go due to her having a Romanian passport.
