Yes Vermont is so slow that some people waiting for their ten year GC have actually filed an N-400 as they now qualify!

Those of us who filed with the CSC should see at least two more GC announcements this week. It is unfair, but my best guess this has more to do with Congress, budgets and such and far less to do with anything else.

Yaaaayyyyy!!! Hope more and more approvals ^.^

Card received today. Totally different style these days - front is very green and has various pictures, including the Statue of Liberty.

Full of fancy new security details too.

On Wednesday I received the hard copy of my approval letter. Shows the date of approval was 3/16/12 - not 3/19/12 as the e-mail indicated.

Hopefully all November filers will have their fancy new cards very, very soon!

For the record, I did not have an AOS interview either.

There was a theory going around that people who didn't get AOS interviews were very likely to get RoC interviews.

Not so much, apparently!

I'll update my timeline and "Filed For" category once I get the actual approval date (which is likely to have been a few days ago).

Got the card production e-mail yesterday! I am traveling out of the country for work on Tuesday, so I will probably have to travel with the old card and the extension letter, which makes me kind of nervous, but at least I know the new card was ordered.

Quick question? can we change jobs while waiting for the 10 yr green card and just show then the 1 yr extension letter.

my GC expired on 02/24/12, filled with Vermont center in november. biometric was in January 2012

Yes! You can show the card and extension letter it's in the i-9 handbook (which you can google and download for free and show to an employer, if you have the misfortune to get someone with poor employment law knowledge).

Alternatively if you got your social security card changed after you got your original green card and it doesn't say 'only valid with DHS authorization' you can show your state id/dl plus that ss card, then you don't even have to show the expired green card. Though you do have to write the number next to the PR check box. An employer cannot in most cases ask for a specific document (can be considered discrimination) as you're free to pick from the list of approved documents on the i-9 just like a citizen can (also in the i-9 handbook).

"The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on March 28, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Does that mean approval of 10 year GC?
