Hello everyone,

Please, I need your help. I got my travel document, AP or I-512L.

It is a multiple entry AP. It is valid until August 16, 2012. The first time I used it was to go to a short cruise to the Bahamas a few weeks ago.

When we returned from the cruise at the port of entry, the officers didn't know what my document was! Then, after reading it carefully, they realized it was a valid travel document.

So the officer, stamped my document. The stamp says:

PAROLED UNTIL 10/13/2011 (the officer instead of writing 2012, wrote 2011!!!!)

PURPOSE: AOS

OCT 14 2011

But under that, she stamped the correct date when I got back in, which was 10/14/2011

Two days ago I came back to my country to visit and I just read the AP document and realized about this mistake in the parole stamp!! It is just that instead of 2012 she wrote 2011... maybe she was having a bad day.

Do you think I am going to have any trouble when I come back into the US?

It is clear that it was their mistake. She wrote the wrong date. But my AP document is valid before August 16, 2012.

Thank you so much for your help.

UPDATE!

Hello everyone,

Just to let you know that I am back in the US using AP for a second time. I would like to add my two cents and share my experience with you.

As you know, the first time I used AP was when I got back from the cruise, but they didn't know what it was at first. They didn't even keep one copy for them, they gave me both copies back.

Well, I came back yesterday from Peru. I enter the US through Miami airport. The officer that looked at my documents at the beginning only read what was printed at the beginning: Valid to travel before August 16, 2012. He didn't even look at the wrong date on the stamp below (made by the officer by mistake the fist time I used AP). He was nice, but of course he sent me to secondary inspection, because I was traveling with AP.

In the secondary inspection room I had to wait 2 hours and 15 minutes! Because there was a lot of people before me. It was like a nice waiting room and the officers there were very friendly. It was not scary at all. When it was my turn, the officer called me and she told me that the first time I used the AP the officer should have taken one copy. She joked with another officer about this, cause she said there was no record of my first entry using AP. But she said it was all right, no worries.

Oh! She did ask me to show her my Employment Authorization Card, which I had with me.

Finally, I was good to go. I just missed my connection, but fortunately they put me in another flight at no extra cost.

I will wait till I get my Green Card to travel out of the country again. :)

Just my two cents.

Good luck!!!
