I just wanted to announce that Cairo Egypt had a backlog of interview cases. Wait time for the interview was 6 months from NVC case complete--sometimes longer.

But yesterday Cairo gave out interviews to NVC case complete dates of all JUNE JULY and AUGUST!!!!

That means now a 4 month wait till interviews. Still incredibly long but I am hopeful they will keep up the pace and I will get an interview in January. Please dear God, please be willing!

Thank you all for your sweet thoughts and prayers.

by false RFE you mean that the AVR mention missing documents but the operator told you that this is a false RFE?

Dan, if your IV papers have not gone to NVC then you can almost be sure it is a fake RFE. You might get an RFE everyday till they log in your IV or DS230 papers.

Do not worry.

You can call the operator to confirm that they are just waiting for your DS-230 and then breathe.

Ok so I was checking avr as I always do and it has updated msg. That i have some missing documents and they sent me checklist on nov 3. How do i know what's missing ?

I'd bet that it's just a false RFE. They reviewed your AOS (no RFEs) and now they're just waiting on the IV package, which is just the false RFE. To confirm this, call an operator and ask.

ok here's my situation,

on 31 October 2011(last Monday) the NVC received my AOS package,

on Tuesday 1 November 2011 i paid the IV bill

yesterday 3 November i mailed the IV package but didn't reached the NVC yet

Today i call the AVR and the msg was that some documents are missing and they mailed me a checklist and it was generated on the 3 november

QUESTIONS :

a) The RFE for AOS PACKAGE IS DIFFERENT THAN IV PACKAGE ? i mean could it be this msg because they didn't received my IV package yet?

b) the msg said that they mailed a checklist for the missing documents => do they send it also by email? because it will take 2 weeks to received by mail (LOL),

c) at this time their is no operator to answer my call but if i called during business hours are they able to help me and tell me what are the missing documents ?

Thanks in advance guys :)

You have the same situation as above. It's a false RFE. It means that NVC has reviewed your AOS (with no RFEs), and they automatically generate an RFE for the IV package, whether it's at NVC or not. Call an operator to confirm this.

by false RFE you mean that the AVR mention missing documents but the operator told you that this is a false RFE?

Nah! Hubby and I didn't rely on what the AVR was saying. :P When calling NVC, we ALWAYS press "5" (we prefer talking to an operator)! Haha! The false RFEs on my signature below were all received via email. I put "FALSE" description coz they specifically mentioned on the RFE email what documents NVC was asking from us (packages were on their way to NVC during that time so we disregarded them). But when we were still receiving such emails (even if according to the USPS tracking system the packages were already delivered to NVC), we opted talking to an operator. He just told us just to disregard the emails we were receiving and most prolly they already had our packages (he can't confirm it though :bonk: ) and that they were not yet being reviewed (or assigned to an officer's desk) as of the moment.

Grats again!

And don't listen to the operator when they say they only schedule during the second week each month. They schedule ALL month long. So even though you got your case complete yesterday, it's possible to have your interview scheduled today. Don't worry about "making it in time for next week".
