i have a question, my uncle signed as a co-sponsor for my husband, me and my uncle do not reside in the same household. At the interview if the CO asks where my husband will live, is he supposed to give the co-sponsor's information?

No, your husband will tell them where he plans to live, which is hopefully with you, not your uncle.

So again last night we received another email saying:

"...We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant

visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents

which are indicated as missing or need additional information..."

Under the instructions section, it says:

"______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case..."

Exactly the same as the one we received 3 days ago. And this time the AVR says that the package has been reviewed and there is information missing...

We rang the NVC and the operator said they are still reviewing the DS-230 package.

We rang back and another operator said they only received it yesterday, even though we know they received it last Friday.

I truly hope that this email and the AVR are part of a false RFE.

If that's the case, the NVC really shouldn't send so much misinformation. No wonder people get confused.

Does this fit the profile of a false RFE?

Nope. There is no AVR update on them getting packages. It's not even logged in the computers until it's been reviewed. Just call NVC every single day and ask if there's an update on your case.

Saylin,

Packet IV is delivered on Dec 6th (information from DHL courier Service).

I called up operator today(Dec 8th), they are telling like they did not have any info about Packet IV.

You'll be getting an interview letter in the email (if you gave your email addresses). This is the letter needed for the medical and interview. The case complete email is not used for anything.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification Saylin!!

To quotes a movie, “So how does it happen, great love? Nobody knows... but what I can tell you is that it happens in the blink of an eye. One Moment you're enjoying your life, and the next you're wondering how you ever lived without them.” I felt I found something with Kieu that is rare in life... true love.

sounds like a false RFE to me cos they are asking for the Ds-230 which you have mailed to them. many people( from what I read here) who mail the packages separately get this false RFE while some escape it. so when they get one they issue an RFE for the other package which most likely has already been mailed and even delivered to them. give them end of working day today call round 9pm EST and ask again.

again congrats

It does sound like it could be a false RFE.

And about one of the operators saying they only received it yesterday, remember, they don't know when your package arrives in the mail room. They only know once an officer starts reviewing it. Perhaps they're referring to it landing on someone's desk yesterday.

Anyways, just keep calling every single day. You might hear of a case complete this week ;)

again congrats

My package got to NVC on monday December 5th and I got a CASE COMPLETED this morning( called few minutes ago)

personally I believe submitting my AOS/DS-230 TOGETHER helped move this stage very fast . They did not have to hang unto the AOS documents for days before the DS-230 form arrived( I learned from some people's experience with false RFE for that). I was waiting for my mom's police certificate from Nigeria . So even though I was anxious to get something to them, I held on to the AOS until the DS-230 documents( drove USPS staff in my neighborhood crazy checking up everyday for that police report mail :rofl::rofl: ) were complete then mailed together.

For IR1/CR1 folks NVC in tandem with consulate assigns the dates. K1 applicants book the interview dates themselves.

I don't think his employment status will really matter. As long as the petitioner maintains his/her employment history - this is what consular officer is more concerned about. Or the IO won't even bother asking him about his employment status.

So, I think, you should be fine.

Good luck at interview !

Thanks for the answer! :) What do you mean exactly by "as long as the petitioner maintains his employment history"? Does that mean as long as he's always had a job in the past? (He has been in the military for 7 years, and his contract recently ended.) I am VERY much stressing about this because I have read a few stories on VJ where the customs guy actually asks about employment.... questions like "what does your husband does for a living?" Ewww. I'm nervous!
