My wife has just completed her medicals in Toronto and will pick it up on Friday. 2 more weeks to go :clock:.

NOPE I leave on the 6th so you'll be hearing from here until then

G'day All,

Just a quick thank you to everyone, especially Saylin for so much help and effort that has clearly gone into this site. It makes the journey so much easier!

As for our case, we got our DS-3032 accepted this morning, so hoping for a quick turn around for them to generate the IV bill! In the mean time, we'll send out our I-864 package!

Good luck to all for speedy processing!

Yeap, I think, you'll be getting IV bill within 2-4 days, much quicker than I got - 2 weeks. And if there's no RFE (I wish you so), your I864 will be approved withing approximately 1 week.

happy pre-thanksgiving to everyone in VJ!

I am still waiting to hear from NVC about any news on interview dates, My case closed nov 18, so they told me to call the 2nd week of the month in December but I will call again soon though, I have started gathering evidence of my relationship with my husband for example I have: wedding pics, pics of last year when I went to visit him, plane tickets, receipts of stuff we bought for our house in Mexico, money transfers from the bank when i sent him money, a copy of my bank where i listed him as beneficiary, and i also have dvd copies of our wedding ceremony, mmm i also kept a copy of our dog's vaccination record that we had though unfortunately she passed away, I guess that will show us being legitimate in our relationship.

Any thing else you guys think i can take?

By the way, he's never been here to the united states, doesn't have any illegal issues in mexico, neither of us has been married before nor have kids.I hope all this works in our favor and he gets his visa approved, we want to start our life together already!

Hi! I posted earlier in this thread all of the documents I'll be bringing with me during the USEM interview. But yeah, diff countries have diff requirements. And hey, we both have the same case, hubby and I have never committed nor been convicted of any crime, we were never married before, no kids either too. I hope the CO's wouldn't give us a hard time and approve our visas. :luv:

Don't bother bringing the DVD of the ceremony as you're not allowed to bring electronics inside. They will not view it.

As for some ideas of proof, did either of you send greeting cards to each other? (birthday, holiday, etc) Even some from his family. I brought a Christmas card that my husband's grandmother had sent me. Also, do you have him on any kind of insurance or housing? My husband added me to his car insurance, so I brought a copy of that. Also brought the apartment lease that was also in my name. Of course, I never ended up showing any evidence, but I did bring some. Also, any correspondence between you and him? Either emails, IMs, Skype, text messages, etc.

I think in most countries, it's a lot simpler if it's the first marriage and no kids. And if he's never had any illegal issues that's always a bonus (both for immigration and otherwise!) He'll definitely get approved :)

I was just wondering Saylin, I asked my hubby to put me as a beneficiary in his insurance (you know how we girls are, we're very keen observers and we scrutinize every possible detail/proof we could present in preparation for the interview :P ), but when he was about to, they told him they CAN'T coz I DON'T have a US SSN (duh?! Of course, coz I'm still here in PI! LOL  ). But hearing what happened to your case, I'm a bit confused. Is it possible? Is there another way he can do it? Or it's a state (California) law or something and it differs to each state? But yeah, I included my hubby in my insurance here in PI. All they asked from me to be able to include him as my dependent/beneficiary is our marriage certificate.

Grats on the DS-3032 approval. Since it's Thanksgiving tomorrow, NVC might slow down over the next few days afterwards as people might be on vacation. Hopefully the IV bill will be invoiced early next week though!

Yeah, I know with my husband's health insurance, he tried adding me but they refused since I didn't have a SSN (this was while I was still in Canada, although I'm still not on his insurance headbonk.gif). It might differ by state or company. What company does he use, do you know? And did he explain to them that you're in the Philippines and don't have a SSN yet?

Foremost Insurance Group, that's his car insurance company. He did explain it to them and told him to come back once I have my US SSN.LOL! Mmkay, I guess it won't be possible. :bonk: I'm just gathering as much evidence as I can. Thanks again Saylin! (F)

Do the NVC send an email for AOS and Visa bill together, I receive an email that NVC sent to my lawyer stating that both bills are now due. I thought once you paid one bill and it gets approved that's when they generate the next, am I wrong?

If you have a lawyer, both bills are invoiced at the same time. There's no need of the DS-3032 as the lawyer is automatically appointed as the agent. Thus, AOS and IV are invoiced together.

I just received my Police Certificate in the mail from the Australian Federal Police and now I'm worried.

The type of certificate I was told to get by the Police guy was a Type 35 (Overseas Employment / Visa). However this only covers 'Unspent Offences'. There is a second type of certificate. Type 33 (Immigration / Citizenship - Australia) that covers ALL offences. Have I got the wrong one?? Any Australians that can help??
