I overnighted my DS260 this morning to NVC. So there is nothing now for me to do except wait for CC and an interview date. Hopefully this will all now be over soon and my hubby will be with me. I am so ready!

You mean DS-230, right?

Once NVC gets it, it'll probably be a week or two, and then if no RFEs, case complete!

Just to make sure, you have been calling a NVC operator every single day and asking if a case number has been assigned, right?

Ys Saylin.

Just now got the case number over phone. Lord is doing good things for me.

What can i expect next? what needs to be done next?

Grats on getting the case number! Call back asap and ask for the Invoice Identification Number (IIN here on VJ).

Also, give over the email addresses of both you and your spouse.

You can then email the DS-3032. The link to the template is in the first post on this thread. Keep in mind though, that it might be too early, and they might not accept it. But on the other hand, it might get accepted and shave off a few days in this process.

Sorry Saylin, dont mind.

just a question. NVC already have petitioner's mail id rite? wont they send mail until we give our mails ids?

is it for our mail id, are they waiting before sending out the details in mail?

There's a difference between mail and email, so your question doesn't really make sense.

NVC might have the petitioner's email address (from one of the forms in the I-130 package), but they might not. I still had to give my husband's email address when I called.

You should do this TODAY or as soon as possible. Within a few days, NVC will email both of you the initial information package that contains your case number, IIN, an expired DS-3032, and information about NVC. If you do NOT give your email addresses, then this package will be mailed, and will take an extremely long time to be received.

Hi Smiles, Can you please edit your timeline and add the date 130 was sent. That way your information flows to the portal so people can see how many days the entire process took you.

Thank you and Good Luck

First off, since your wife is from Canada, you won't be questioned to any extent. You're only gonna get a handful of questions. I was only asked two: where does my husband live and how did we meet.

Now, Palladin is from China where they get questioned MUCH longer. In Canada, the interview itself lasts less than 5 minutes.

If you want, yes, you can just sit in the waiting area and not join your wife in the interview room, but it might show more proof of relationship if you join her. If the interviewer asks your wife if your husband is with her, and she replies that you're in the waiting room, it might be seen as a negative.

And again I wonder, why do you say MEMORIZING answers? You should just know them as your wife is (or should be) another part of you. When I looked over the questions for my interview, I just knew the answers since I knew my husband, despite only being married for a year. Just after all the conversations we've had, we got to know each other.

Well, I've talked to my wife and she is completely against my going for the interview with her. Her words: "Have they asked you to attend the interview? "

I had no intentions to pick-up a quarrel on that and let it go . Which is even better for me - less headache  .

Well, I doubt they're gonna ask you questions about your husband's mother's siblings! The questions are all gonna revolve around your husband and co-sponsor. Not extended family :P Just get your husband to write you out a family tree and bring that :P

Definitely get your husband's tax info. But you probably won't have to worry about it since you already submitted the AOS package to NVC. It's simply a "just in case" thing.

It was included in the link you've provided. Under the spouse's relative section. LOL! But yeah, I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to answer the questions re my relationship with hubby. :luv: About our co-sponsor, I printed his scanned ITRs and W2s and I must admit that I can't understand these forms. I was like, WTH is this? :bonk:

Ohhh, somebody responded on my thread in the Philippine regional forum. She told me that copies (not originals) should be fine. She had them during the interview and wasn't asked for it. The CO was more interested with the photographs she brought with her. :P

Haha, listen to your wife then. Now and for the rest of your life :Plaughing.gif

She'll do great, just like I did, since I was alone as well. I think having my husband there would have made me more nervous. I was confident on my own.

Yeah, it might have been in the link, but not all consulates/embassies ask those kind of questions. Like I went through those questions only once cause I knew at Montreal, people are only asked basic questions like where does your husband work, where does he live, how'd you meet. Everything I should be able to answer without having to memorize.

And yeah, when I saw my husband filling out a 1040 for the 2010 tax year, I was like blink.gif I'm used to my online Canadian ones.

Glad someone finally replied to your thread!

Like I said, email the DS-3032. You don't need to wait for the initial information package. Although, it might not be accepted as it may be too soon.

I gotta . But not always (glad that my wife doesn't go on VJ forum pretty much)

Thank you, Saylin ! So, she's probably right, and I bet she knows that my presence would make her, like you say, more nervous :P.
