Sorry to complain on here but #######. This other french couple started their applicaiton in AUGUST had their case complete at NVC on Nov 14th and got their interview on Dec 1st (no expedite). How does that work? I don't understand this iterview system MY CASE WAS COMPLETE A MONTH before them WHY DIDNT I GET THAT DATE

THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY I SITLL HAVE A MONTH MORE TO WAIT.

blink.gif Did they ask for an earlier date?

It also might have been that someone cancelled their interview and they just got lucky by being the next ones in line to be scheduled and got that person's cancelled interview slot.

Nope. I think they have a small child which probably does not hurt... I appreciate your input it makes me make sense out of this process! I hate not being in the loop of how things work.

You're right, they prob nabbed an empty spot. They replied to our fax on tuesday so they prob got the date on Monday RIGHT before we asked to change it. I knew we should of sent it earlier. Such is luck.

My other theory is that they schedule backwards. I was one of the first on this forum to get my interview date my last numbers were 01 so I am guessing they work their way backwards. That's what I would do if I were an NVC scheduler.

I am steaming jealous of how fast they went. Those lucky duckies.

Then again maybe there is a reason I have to go to France this x-mas.

Either they asked for an earlier one or they were lucky enough to get a cancelled interview slot.

And I can't really support the backwards theory. That wouldn't make sense. Although granted, a lot of this process doesn't make sense.

Oh wait I sent so many emails to NVC and got really mad at one of the operators. There we go... problem solved, must of had a really bad grade on my file.

I applaud you on getting the list of documents from him of what's going to be sent before it is. Hopefully he's not missing anything! While you're waiting for the documents, you should go over these interview questions posted here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Consular_Interview_Questions

Do I really have to know all of the answers to these set of questions? I must say I'm not good in memorizing at all. :bonk: Anyway, Saylin, my hubby sent me a scanned copy of his and our co-sponsors ITRs (2010) and W2s (2010) in an email(coz we didn't include in our AOS packet the last three recent years; only year 2010 was submitted). What do I need to present in the USEM interview? Can I just have them printed out? Or I must bring with me the original ones (I doubt it though that our co-sponsor would hand us/me his original documents)? Hubby is still requesting for his employment letter from firestone. I hope he'll have it before this week ends.

^ Im just taking two recent w2's for my co sponsor. And all recent W2's for my husband. I have sent both of their recent tax transcript (2010) as sending more was optional. No employment letters. Do you think that will be enough? my interview is Dec 1st.

You shouldn't have to memorize the answers. You should just KNOW the answers. It's like knowing the answers about yourself.

As for whether they need to be original or copies, I believe copies should be okay. But I don't know much about the Philippines. Some countries are extremely picky and want originals only. You should ask within the Philippines regional forum for a better answer from those that have interviewed already (or know what they're talking about).

...you should go over these interview questions posted here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Consular_Interview_Questions

Saylin, you've scared me with your link . Now it looks like if I go with my wife for the interview, they can easily start asking me a different questions as well, especially about my wife's ex-spouse. But this is ridiculous ! I barely know his name, let alone the details of their marriage and divorce! Why are they focusing on that? What about if my wife just simply doesn't want to bring back the memories of her previous marriage? That's her private, so why would I rake into it? It sounds so stupid and non-logical.

I've heard on different thread that Palladin's wife was so far denied with visa due to those questions about Palladin's ex-wife (Palladin is the petitioner).

Can I just simply go there and sit and wait in that waiting area without attending the negotiations near the window?

I don't feel myself at all like start preparing for the interview, I mean, going over the questions, memorizing the answers.

It feels, like the Green Card interview that I went through in 2005 (though I was single). But now it's completely different story and I even might miss some details from our current relations.

I just don't want to create any possible barriers on this VJ process.

So, to summarize: can I just simply wait for my wife while she's being interviewed?

So, to summarize: can I just simply wait for my wife while she's being interviewed?

First off, since your wife is from Canada, you won't be questioned to any extent. You're only gonna get a handful of questions. I was only asked two: where does my husband live and how did we meet.

Now, Palladin is from China where they get questioned MUCH longer. In Canada, the interview itself lasts less than 5 minutes.

If you want, yes, you can just sit in the waiting area and not join your wife in the interview room, but it might show more proof of relationship if you join her. If the interviewer asks your wife if your husband is with her, and she replies that you're in the waiting room, it might be seen as a negative.

And again I wonder, why do you say MEMORIZING answers? You should just know them as your wife is (or should be) another part of you. When I looked over the questions for my interview, I just knew the answers since I knew my husband, despite only being married for a year. Just after all the conversations we've had, we got to know each other.

I say MEMORIZE coz my mother-in-law has 16 siblings! Haha! (This is with regards to the question what is my hubby's aunts and uncles names). LOL! I haven't met them all in person. Some of them, I only knew by their nicknames. :bonk: Then, talk about his aunts and uncles in his father's side. Then their spouses and children? I'll take me forever to KNOW/MEMORIZE them all. Haha! But yeah, I can answer the rest of the set of questions in the link you've provided. I can say I know my husband pretty well. :luv:

My bad, hubby only scanned our co-sponsor's ITR and W2s (2010). He's gonna send me his original documents. I tried posting in the Philippine regional forum but no one bothered answering my questions. :crying:

Well, I doubt they're gonna ask you questions about your husband's mother's siblings! The questions are all gonna revolve around your husband and co-sponsor. Not extended family :P Just get your husband to write you out a family tree and bring that :P

Definitely get your husband's tax info. But you probably won't have to worry about it since you already submitted the AOS package to NVC. It's simply a "just in case" thing.

27 days since NOA2. No news from NVC yet :(

Just to make sure, you have been calling a NVC operator every single day and asking if a case number has been assigned, right?

I overnighted my DS260 this morning to NVC. So there is nothing now for me to do except wait for CC and an interview date. Hopefully this will all now be over soon and my hubby will be with me. I am so ready!
