Hi everyone! Just an update on my interview on Monday. It was scheduled for 11:30 am at the Philly DO. Got there at about 11, but had to wait in line outside as security was slow in getting people through the door. Got to the waiting room at 11:35 and waited for about 10 minutes before being called in. I was then greeted by a very pleasant and friendly officer for my interview. She started off with a quick English test, asking me to read aloud: "How many Senators are there?" I then wrote down the answer, "There are one hundred Senators." She then reviewed the questions on the N-400. The part I was most worried was where I disclosed getting a ticket at a NJ State Park for having alcoholic beverages on park grounds back in 2005. She merely asked what the end result was and I told her it was a $50 fine. She said that since it happened outside the 5-year review period, she didn't need anything else for it.

After reviewing the N-400, she asked me my 6 civics questions and that was that. She then told me that I have been recommended for approval and that my oath date will most likely be April 5th at the courthouse in Wilmington, DE.

All in all, it was very smooth experience. The interview itself lasted no more than 15 or 20 minutes. The interview and yellow letters I received asked me to bring my passports, traffic ticket paperwork, state ID or driver's license, etc. But the only thing she ended up looking at were my green card and driver's license. Quite impressed with the staff, who very professional and courteous! That being said, I'm quite happy to be (almost) done with the whole process. :)

Way to go!

Was 3 yrs PR on 2/13. No updates yet :angry: . 2 days down, 28 to go. Was told it will take upto 30 days - trying to be patient.

I don't even know what to think anymore but will wait for the letter. This is the notification I got today:

On February 16, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Gotta love USCIS. I-130? Just to recap I did my interview about 2.5 wks before my 3 year anniversary. The interviewing office told me that he could not approve my application I hadn't met the 3-yr req. yet. He explained to me what was going to happen once I was yrs a PR, that my application will be approved, that they will mail me a form to fill about changes btwn then and now, etc, he even explained to me the next steps for my daughter who is 16 and a PR. He assured me that nothing was wrong, I was only not 3yrs a PR.

Later that day at night, my online status changed to RFE. I almost dropped my cuppa cocoa! I relived every word the officer had told me. But then I came to visa journey and found a thread on that - happened to many pple and they all seemed to have had their interview b4 their 3rd anniversary. ANd before I don't mean 2 or 3 days before. And that there's really no RFE that is mailed out. So I was happy again. And patient cos the officer told me that it will take upto 30 days from my 3rd anniversary for them to approve my case.

So, my 3rd anniversary was 2/13. Today 2/16, I got this notification of I130 is approved. Ha-ha, my I130 is approved? I am hoping someone just selected a wrong case in my portfolio and hit "update". Or that their online system is whacky as it sometimes is. Will patiently wait for the letter...

Another update, now on my N400. Note that I didn't receive any RFE or send any evidence.

On February 16, 2012, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our COLUMBUS, OH location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done.

11/23/11......NOA recived in the mail(priority date nov 14)(notice date nov 21)..(you will be notified of the date and place of your interview when you have been scheduled by the local USCIS office.you should expect to be notified withing 90 days of this notice)

12/13/11......got text and email about biometric letter being send out

12/17/11.......got biometric letter in the mail(appointment date dec 28th)

12/19/11.....did early walk in FP

12/22/11.......got email and text about being placed in line for interview scheduling

01/30/12.......got email from my IO were i was asked to pick my own interview date and send email back with the date i picked

02/06/12......got INETRVIEW email with appointment letter(have to print that out and bring with me on the interview day)

02/28/12.......INTERVIEW with oath on the same day(as long i pass the test afcorse.)

Thank you! I am nervous a bit, we have to get up at 5 am in order to make it by 7.45 am.

My husband will wait in the waiting area with our 16 m.o. daughter, that will be fun..

Got a text today and when I logged onto the website, this is what I found:

On February 21, 2012, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled.

I must admit I said a prayer before I logged on :whistle:

Hi everybody! I became a US citizen today!!!

My interview was scheduled at 7.45 am, we were inside at 7.20 and my interview started at 8.10. It was super smooth, IO woman was very nice, polite and friendly. I will not write details because everything went well, i even don't remember all the questions i was asked, and i was not asked any additional documents :)

I have mentioned after my test that we already have tickets for early April to visit my relatives because of some family issues, and asked if there is any way i can know the earliest Oath ceremony date. She went out for 5 minutes to talk to her supervisor and came back offering same-day administrative ceremony. Of course I agreed! She told me to come back at 10.30 am. There was her supervisor, me, my husband and our 16 m.o. daughter during oath. Everything was quick and official. Now i have my certificate and we already applied for US passport :)

Started 25 minutes after scheduled time.

Nice, professional and polite IO woman.

Congratulations Maad!!!!!!i see that your oath is in couple days.sweet

11/12/11.....N400 send to Nebraska service center

11/14/11.....N400 delivered to NE

11/21/11.....Check cashed

11/23/11......NOA recived in the mail(priority date nov 14)(notice date nov 21)..(you will be notified of the date and place of your interview when you have been scheduled by the local USCIS office.you should expect to be notified withing 90 days of this notice)

12/13/11......got text and email about biometric letter being send out

12/17/11.......got biometric letter in the mail(appointment date dec 28th)

12/19/11.....did early walk in FP

12/22/11.......got email and text about being placed in line for interview scheduling

01/30/12.......got email from my IO were i was asked to pick my own interview date and send email back with the date i picked

02/06/12......got INETRVIEW email with appointment letter(have to print that out and bring with me on the interview day)

02/28/12.......INTERVIEW with oath on the same day(as long i pass the test afcorse.)
