Yesterday I got a yellow letter that starts with "This is not an interview notice". And they ask me to bring a copy of my tax returns for the last 3 years at the interview. I first got a job in 2010, so I only paid taxes since then, and I already sent them copy of that in the package I mailed in November. I don't know what else to bring with me at the interview... and I haven't even been given a date for the interview. Before this letter, the last thing I got was on Dec. 22, a notice that I had been placed in line to be scheduled for the interview. When I saw the yellow letter, I thought for sure it was the interview appointment, so you can imagine my disappointment when the first thing I read, as a big title in capital letters, was THIS IS NOT AN INTERVIEW NOTICE... The USCIS never cease to surprise me :wacko::angry: Has this happened to anyone before?

Gotcha. Click on your username at the upper right corner of your screen. A menu will pop-up, select "my settings". It will take you to another page, click on "my profile" (middle left side) and then click on signature. Type your signature and voila!

I thought even if you didn't have a job you oughta file taxes. No?

will everyone be getting the yellow letter?

Mine is white. It IS an interview letter with a date and venue. But am asked to bring stuff showing marital union but am not surprised because I have moved since ROC.

Some people do get the yellow letter reminding you of what evidence to bring with you to the interview - and some don't. I don't know what their criteria is. I didn't get it but friends of mine did. The yellow letter generally comes - or at least it used to - about 2 weeks before the interview notice, so getting the yellow letter is still good. Just bring along the originals of everything you submitted with the N-400 petition along with any additional evidence you have gathered since that submission to show you are still together, your address is the same, and if you have travelled out of the country, proof of how long (passport stamps or boarding passes work). In all likelihood your additional evidence won't be looked at, but guaranteed, if you didn't bring it, they would ask to see it.:D. I carried in a big file folder with lots of evidence and she definitely didn't want to see any of it.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
